Wrapped up!๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ’ช

The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) of VRDHS successfully concluded its academic year activities on February 13, 2026, with a significant initiative focused on enhancing the school environment.

The organization undertook the repainting and restoration of restrooms within the JHS and SHS campuses, effectively removing vandalism and improving the overall comfort and usability of these essential facilities for the student body.๐Ÿƒ

A total of five restrooms in the JHS area and three restrooms in the SHS area were revitalized through this project. ๐ŸŒบ

This undertaking was made possible through the funds raised during our online caroling event in December.

YES-O extends its deepest gratitude to all who generously donated, enabling us to foster a cleaner, more appealing school environment.๐ŸŒท

The YES-O of VRDHS hopes that this project inspires other student organizations to take similar initiatives that benefit the entire school community. We look forward to continuing our efforts in promoting environmental awareness and positive change within VRDHS.๐Ÿƒ๐ŸŒฑ

Rooting for a greener future! ๐ŸŒฟ

The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) successfully launched its tree-planting initiative on February 12, 2026, covering both the Junior High School and Senior High School campuses of Viga Rural Development High School.

This activity aligns with DepEd Memorandum No. 234, Series of 2008, which mandates public schools nationwide to encourage students to plant malunggay as part of science classes or community outreach projects, under an agreement with the Department of Agriculture.

This Malunggay tree-planting activity does more than just promote a greener communityโ€”it strengthens our first line of defense. ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ In an era of increasing storms, these trees act as anchors for the soil and sponges for the rain.

As they grow, they will become the giants of tomorrow, providing shade and sustenance for future generations. The initiative also supports DepEd's broader goal of food security through its "Gulayan sa Paaralan" project, as highlighted in the memorandum, offering both environmental and economic benefits to students and their families.

Every malunggay sapling we planted today is a promise to our planet and our youth. We are turning environmental action into meaningful change. Let us continue nurturing these trees and our shared commitment to sustainabilityโ€”because a greener future starts with the choices we make today! ๐Ÿƒ๐ŸŒฑ

PROJECT ACCOMPLISHED!๐Ÿฅฐ

Garbage Bags Distribution - Part 2

The Viga Rural Development High School Youth for Environment in Schools Organization successfully conducted the second phase of garbage bags distribution on February 10, 2026.

A total of 45 bundles were distributed, with each bundle containing 20 pieces of garbage bags.

Allocations were as follows:

- 1 bundle at the Main Campus Office
- 2 bundles at the Senior High School Campus Office
- 1 bundle at the Main Campus Canteen
- The remaining bundles were provided to each classroom

This initiative continues to promote proper waste management, environmental responsibility, and eco-friendly habits among the entire school community. By equipping more areas with designated garbage bags, we are strengthening our commitment to maintaining a clean, sustainable learning environment for all.

Christmas is the season of givingโœจ

Aside from their environmental duties, the VRDHS YES-O officers, members, and advisers brought warmth and care to the community on the fifth day of Misa de Aguinaldo at Our Lady of Assumption Parish Church in Viga, Catanduanes, this 20th of December, 2025, by sponsoring a comforting serving of lugaw for parishioners.

In a world that often rushes by, thereโ€™s something so special about sharing a simple meal that warms both the body and the heart. PROJECT ACCOMPLISHED!๐Ÿฅฐ

The Viga Rural Development High School Youth for Environment in Schools Organization successfully conducted the distribution of garbage bags across Junior High School and Senior High School campuses this morning, December 3, 2025. Each of the 40 sections received 20 pieces of garbage bags in one bundle to promote proper waste management and environmental responsibility among students.

In addition, 40 pieces were allocated to each school officeโ€”both Junior High School and Senior High Schoolโ€”and 20 pieces were provided for the school e-library.

This project aims to enhance cleanliness, encourage eco-friendly habits, and foster a more sustainable school environment.

With a total of nine hundred garbage bags distributed, we are collectively taking action to ensure a cleaner future.
