VICTORIAS CITY โ€” Following the success of its initial rollout, the Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias, Inc. (CSAV) Social Work Program, in coordination with the Community Extension and Services Office (CESO), successfully conducted Session 2 of the project โ€œResponsable nga Ginikanan, Protektado ang Kabataan (RGPK)โ€.

The second seminar, titled โ€œPositive Discipline and Emotional Management,โ€ took place on May 8, 2026, at the Barangay VI-A Covered Court in Zone 2, gathering 70 local parents eager to foster healthier home environments.

The primary mission of the session was to equip families with non-violent communication techniques and emotional self-regulation strategies. Organized in close partnership with the Barangay Council of Barangay VI-A, the program aimed to break reliance on aggressive disciplinary measures and encourage proactive, supportive family relationships.

The event kicked off with a registration process, an opening prayer, the national anthem, and welcoming remarks from a barangay representative. To break the ice and build a relaxed atmosphere, a dynamic icebreaker was held to energize the participants before moving into the heavy discussions.

The resource speaker guided the 70 participants through essential parenting modules, navigating critical topics such as:
1. The distinct boundaries between constructive discipline and harmful punishment.
2. The long-term psychological and behavioral effects of violent discipline on child growth.
3. Managing personal emotional triggers and community stress.
4. Practicing active listening and establishing consistent daily routines at home.

The structural highlight of the seminar was an open forum and an emotional sharing session. Parents openly reflected on their personal discipline tendencies, safely identifying behaviors they wished to correct or improve.

This space allowed for honest interaction, shared vulnerability, and deep community learning. Interactive games and group activities were seamlessly woven throughout the session to maintain high engagement and build a spirit of cooperation among the participants.

The success of Session 2 was a direct result of the collaboration between the participants, the local barangay officials, project heads, and the dedicated second batch of implementers from the CSAV Social Work Program.

By increasing the community's grasp on emotional management and non-violent communication, the RGPK project continues to chip away at the supervision gaps and behavioral risks facing local youth, guiding Barangay VI-A toward a more peaceful, supportive, and protected future.

Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias, Inc. (CSAV) continues its mission of service and academic excellence as the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) Program officially launched its Community Extension Project at Villa Miranda Elementary School on May 7, 2026.

The launching was led by Education Program Head Dr. Anna Liza G. Santillana, alongside Dr. Efren Pagalilawan and faculty members Mr. Christopher Tangao and Mr. Carl Tangao. The initiative received a warm welcome from Mrs. Regina Bonda, School Principal, who expressed her full support for the learners' development.

The project focuses on strengthening the reading fluency, comprehension, and confidence of struggling learners through collaborative efforts. BEED student volunteers serve as dedicated facilitators, providing academic support and encouragement through guided reading activities.

A vital part of the launch was the active participation of parents and guardians, who joined the team in supporting the challenged pupils. This collaboration reflects CSAVโ€™s deep commitment to learner-centered education and meaningful community engagement.

Together, we are building a foundation for lifelong learning!

We are thrilled to share the success of the BSOA Program's latest milestone in their community extension journey! Last April 24, 2026, the "From PISO to Profit" initiative took a creative turn with Module 2 โ€“ Trash to Cash: Paper Charcoal Making. This session proved that sustainability and economic growth go hand-in-hand. By transforming discarded paper into fuel, our partners in Brgy. VI-A are not just managing wasteโ€”they are building a foundation for sustainable livelihoods.

Kudos to the team leading this transformative development:
-Dr. Cherrie Mae N. Toleco (BSOA Program Head)
-Sir Rene E. Imperial (Research & Extension Coordinator)
-Ms. Rosalia Baterna (CESO Faculty Facilitator)

This initiative directly supports SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 8 (Decent Work & Economic Growth), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption). By teaching residents to recognize the value in what is often overlooked, we are collectively working toward a cleaner, greener, and more resilient future.

Taking inspiration from the successful culmination of our community-driven initiative, the Community Extension Services Office (CESO) proudly celebrates the official turnover of the project โ€œLig-on nga pundasyon, andam sa tanang panahon: Disaster Risk Preparedness Project for Brgy. VI-Aโ€. This milestone follows a comprehensive series of sessions that equipped residents of Zone 3-A with vital leadership skills, basic life support training, and environmental protection through mangrove planting. Through the formal signing of the Letter of Agreement and the election of dedicated community officers, we have ensured that the foundation of disaster resilience is now firmly in the hands of the local residents, empowering them to manage and sustain these life-saving initiatives independently.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Barangay VI-A officials, the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO), VCENRO, Harakay Pathfinder Organization, Inc., and Kusog Community Services Volunteers, Inc. for their invaluable partnership and expertise throughout this journey.

Most importantly, we acknowledge the exceptional leadership of our project leaders, Jenine Minguez and Almie Fernandez, whose dedication and hard work turned this vision into a reality for the community.

The Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias (CSAV) Social Work Program, in coordination with the Community Extension and Services Office (CESO), officially launched the first session of the community extension project titled โ€œResponsable nga Ginikanan, Protektado ang Kabataan (RGPK)โ€.

Leading the initiative are Project Leaders Ms. Ritchie Belle Gelito, RSW, and Marty Tianero, the JSWAP President. The project is a strategic response to address the cycle of poverty and the high incidence of unsupervised gaming addiction among children in the coastal community of Barangay VI-A.

The kick-off seminar, โ€œFoundation of Family Parenting and Self-Reflection,โ€ was held at the Barangay VI-A Covered Court. The session focused on helping parents reflect on their raising techniques, recognize specific parenting styles, and understand how their behaviors impact their children's long-term growth and emotional well-being.

A guest speaker currently working under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) shared valuable insights and practical advice on responsible parenting and effective communication.

The event gathered parents from Barangay VI-A alongside student participants from CSAV, encouraging a dynamic exchange of perspectives and intergenerational understanding.

Parents actively participated in discussions and shared personal experiences, while students contributed to the dynamic atmosphere of the workshop.

The RGPK project is designed as a two-month intervention to bridge the gap between economic strain and child welfare.

The success of this first session was made possible through the warm welcome of the Barangay VI-A officials and the collaborative efforts of the Junior Social Workersโ€™ Association of the Philippines (JSWAP).

The CSAV Social Work Program extends its heartfelt gratitude to the first group of implementers, composed of Social Work students from 1st Year to 3rd Year. Their active involvement, energy, and commitment to service were instrumental in the successful rollout of this community extension.

As the program moves forward, upcoming sessions will tackle positive discipline, digital wellness, and strengthening the emotional bonds between parents and children to foster a safer, more supportive home environment.

The Community Extension Services Office (CESO) is proud to have facilitated the successful coordination of the Mangrove Growing Service-Learning Activity held last April 24, 2026, at the Mangrove Eco-Trail, Brgy. VI-A.

In line with our mission to bridge the academe and the community, our office worked closely with Mr. Jared P. Mahusay, RSW, and the BSSW 2A class to ensure that this Earth Month 2026 celebration was not only an academic requirement but a meaningful community engagement.

We highlight the integration of our project, "Lig-on nga Pundasyon, Andam sa tanang Panahon," where our CESO Interns, Jenine Minguezand Mocha Latte successfully mobilized community participants to plant alongside our students.

Our deepest gratitude to Brgy. VI-A, VCENRO, and the PCG for their seamless collaboration. This activity stands as a testament to what we can achieve when the college and the community grow togetherโ€”literally and figuratively. ๐ŸŒฑโš“

Continuing the mission to build a safer community, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) โ€“ Victorias successfully conducted the 2nd session of the project "Lig-on nga Pundasyon, Andam sa Tanang Panahon: Disaster Risk Preparedness Project" last April 10, 2026.

The activity ran from 10:00 in the morning until 3:00 in the afternoon, focusing on practical training to ensure residents are ready for any emergency.

Led by resource persons Reynalyn H. Bedoya, Jose Marie Deocadez, Johnrey Francisco, Joem Superal, and Mary Rose Caberoy, the session taught simple but very important skills on Basic Life Support.

The residents learned the proper way to wrap wounds, support broken bones, do CPR, and how to safely carry or move an injured person.

Through hands-on practice and easy-to-understand discussions, the people of Brgy. VI-A gained more confidence and knowledge to help others right away, proving that the community is truly strong and prepared at all times.

Taking a decisive step toward economic resilience, the Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA) program successfully launched its first training module for the community extension project, โ€œFrom PISO to Profit: Financial Literacy and Bookkeeping for Sustainable Livelihoods,โ€ last March 28, 2026.

The session, held at the Brgy. VI-A Covered Court, focused on Module 1: Understanding Financial Literacy. Facilitated by the BSOA Program Head, CESO facilitators, and BSOA students, the training introduced resident-participants to essential financial concepts and their vital role in daily living.

This initiative is a direct response to the 2025 Community Needs Assessment, which identified joblessness, child labor, and gaming addiction as top priority issues in the area.

By equipping families with smart budgeting and saving strategies, the program actively contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 1: No Poverty (Strengthening household capacity to manage finances and pursue micro-livelihoods); SDG 4: Quality Education (Providing accessible literacy and capacity-building through multi-session training); SDG 8: Decent Work & Economic Growth (Supporting entrepreneurship training and micro-enterprise management); and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities & Communities (Enhancing the community's economic resilience and social stability).

Following this successful kickoff, community participants will soon engage in Module 2: Smart Budgeting and Saving Strategies, alongside a practical Paper Charcoal Making workshop to turn "trash into cash".

The BSOA program and the Community Extension Services Office (CESO) remain committed to shifting from "transactional outreach" to "transformative development," ensuring long-term impact for the families of Barangay VI-A.
