DSWD FO6 TURNS OVER Php 400,000 SEED CAPITAL FUND TO ERPAT WORKERS ASSOCIATION
The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VI turned over a Php 400,000 Seed Capital Fund to the ERPAT Workers Association for their “Coffee Shop and Rice Retailing” livelihood project at the City Mayor’s Office on August 13.
The project aims to provide alternative income opportunities for jobless fathers while creating and developing an income-generating initiative to improve their socio-economic conditions.
The Seed Capital Fund will be used to establish and operate "Coffee Shop and Rice Retailing" livelihood enterprise that seeks to strengthen the economic capability of ERPAT members.
Through the initiative, fathers will be empowered to contribute more effectively to their families’ income, promote self-reliance, and develop a sustainable source of livelihood.
ERPAT Federation President Edgardo Policarpio, ERPAT Workers Association President Tyne Asparen Jr., and Treasurer Nelson Janeo represented the association during the turnover ceremony.
DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program Project Development Officer II Mary Joy Dietera, Office Manager of the City Mayor Sherlou Labrador, and City Social Welfare and Development Officer Joy Reunir led the turnover.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office, through ERPAT Focal Person Kerrboard Cerbo and SLP Focal Jhon Rey Palasol, coordinated the project.
The City Government reaffirmed its support for livelihood initiatives that uplift disadvantaged sectors and promote sustainable development in the community. *
