The Adolescent Health and Development (AHD) Symposium was successfully conducted for the Grade 9 learners of Estado National High School through the strong collaboration of key partner agencies. This meaningful initiative was made possible by the dedicated efforts of the City Health Office of Victorias (CHO), headed by Dr. Richard Garlitos; the City Social Welfare and Development Office of Victorias (CSWD), led by Joy Reunir, RSW; the Schools Division Office of Victorias (SDO), under the leadership of Portia Mission Mallorca, PhD, CESO V; and the SK Federation of Victorias, chaired by Trisha Mae C. Majan.

With the full support of the City Government of Victorias under the administration of Abelardo D. Bantug III, the activity demonstrated a unified commitment to strengthening adolescent health education and empowering the youth of Victorias City.

The symposium covered essential topics such as the harmful effects of smoking, adolescent reproductive health, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE), Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), including HIV and AIDS and RA 11313 (Safe Spaces Act). These discussions aimed to promote informed decision-making, gender sensitivity, mental wellness, and responsible behavior among students.

The resource speakers—Ian Publico, RN, MN (CHO–AHD Focal Person); Ricky P. Lapidante Jr., RSW (CSWD–AHD Focal Person); and Catherine J. Loraez, RN, VCNOPCF – Health Education Program Officer Designate—shared valuable and impactful insights throughout the activity.
