𝐒𝐂𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐇 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 🧪✨

And that’s a wrap for our Science Month 2026!

Started with 𝐒𝐂𝐈 𝐇𝐔𝐒𝐀𝐘, where contestants showed their science knowledge, quick thinking, and confidence from the first question to the final round. 📝⚡

Our Science Month fun continued with 𝐒𝐂𝐈-𝐁𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐎! 🧬🎲
Who knew the periodic table could make bingo this fun? From checking the elements on the cards to waiting for the next call, things definitely got more exciting as the game went on. 👀🔬

After that, we took on 𝐇𝐘𝐃𝐑𝐀𝐔𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐒! 💧⚙️
Seeing the different teams bring their ideas to life and watching their hydraulic models actually work was definitely something to see. 👀🔧
The activity also gave everyone a chance to work together, be creative, and put their ideas to the test.

And finally, that’s a wrap for 𝐒𝐂𝐈-𝐕𝐈𝐕𝐎𝐑! 🎭🔬 From the first station until the last station, the teams brought the energy, teamwork, and competitiveness all throughout the event. The cheering, laughs, and intense moments definitely made SCI-VIVOR one to remember! 🤩🔥

Congratulations to everyone who joined and gave their best, especially to those who took home wins in our different games! 🏆🎉
Thank you for making each activity more exciting and for being part of our Science Month 2026.

We hope you guys enjoyed every game, challenge, cheer, and moment with your friends and teams. From all the activities, challenges, and memories we shared, we hope you take something with you beyond this year’s Science Month.
Until our next adventure, Bernadettians! 🧪🔬

𝐀𝐈𝐑 𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐑𝐓: 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐘 𝐇𝐀𝐙𝐄 🌫️

Transboundary haze occurs when smoke and toxic gases from large scale forest and land clearing fires cross international borders through prevailing winds. One major concern is 𝐏𝐌𝟐.𝟓, tiny particles that can pe*****te deep into the lungs and enter the bloodstream.

This can also affect us here in 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐚. Air quality monitoring in 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐳𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 recorded PM2.5 levels reaching 𝟐𝟐𝟒, making haze and air pollution a concern in our communities.

Stay informed and take simple steps to protect your health. Limit prolonged outdoor activities, wear a well-fitting 𝐍𝟗𝟓 𝐨𝐫 𝐊𝐍𝟗𝟓 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐤 when needed, and follow air quality advisories from 𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐑-𝐄𝐌𝐁 and your 𝐋𝐆𝐔.

The haze may come from beyond our borders, but its effects can reach our communities. Let’s stay informed, protect our health, and do our part in keeping the air we share clean and safe for everyone. 🌍🌱

𝐏𝐀𝐗 𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐀: 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐔𝐬 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭? 🤖🌳

During the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 (𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗔) 𝗼𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, Pax Silica was presented as a major initiative to transform the Philippines into a global hub for artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductor manufacturing, and advanced technology. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵, 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

However, behind these promises lies a growing environmental concern.

Semiconductor manufacturing requires enormous amounts of water and electricity, putting greater pressure on natural resources. Without sustainable planning and strong environmental safeguards, the increasing demand for these resources could affect local communities, reduce water availability, disrupt agriculture, and contribute to environmental degradation.

As the country moves toward innovation and industrial growth, we must ask ourselves whether we can truly call it progress if it comes at the expense of the environment that sustains us. 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀.

True progress is built not only on innovation and economic growth, but also on protecting the environment and ensuring that development today does not compromise the well-being of future generations.

𝙎𝙏𝘼𝙏𝙀 𝙊𝙁 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙉𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 2026 | 𝙀𝙉𝙑𝙄𝙍𝙊𝙉𝙈𝙀𝙉𝙏 𝙈𝘼𝙏𝙏𝙀𝙍𝙎 🌱

The environment remains part of the national conversation, making it important to understand the priorities and initiatives presented in this year’s 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.

Through this research, we revisited the environmental points highlighted by 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐬 𝐉𝐫. , including the government’s approach to 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘸𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘶𝘵 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸 𝘰𝘧 𝘧𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭. We also took a closer look at President Marcos’ position on the 𝐏𝐚𝐱 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭, one of the initiatives discussed during the SONA, and examined the different perspectives surrounding the initiative, including its proposed benefits and the concerns raised by various sectors.

More than understanding what was said, this feature gives us the opportunity to look at the bigger picture behind these discussions. As students, staying informed helps us become more aware of the environmental issues and national initiatives that continue to shape our communities and our future.
