The Philippine Red Cross – Valenzuela City Chapter 2nd team RC 143 Barangay Ugong conducted a Dengue and Leptospirosis Awareness Session and Proper Handwashing Promotion for children in the community. Through fun and interactive health education, we reminded our young community members about preventing mosquito-borne diseases, avoiding leptospirosis, and keeping hands clean to prevent the spread of illnesses.

After the activity, children were also given pastries generously donated by Lemon Square, adding a sweet and meaningful touch to the day.

The Philippine Red Cross – Valenzuela City Chapter brought humanitarian assistance closer to the community through pastries distribution donated by Lemon Square and handwashing dissemination at Arkong Bato, Ugong, and for Andres Fernando Elementary School frontliners.

A total of 500 Lemon Square pastries were distributed while community members, especially children, were reminded of the importance of proper handwashing and hygiene in preventing the spread of illness.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Lemon Square for their generous donation and continued support in helping us reach more communities.

🏠❤️ Evacuation Center Assessment and Humanitarian Assistance

The Philippine Red Cross – Valenzuela City Chapter conducted Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) and monitoring activities in selected evacuation centers to assess the needs of affected communities and ensure timely assistance.

As part of the response, 101 loaves of bread were distributed to evacuees and frontliners, while 56 Health IEC brochures were provided to heads of families to promote health awareness. Dengue and leptospirosis prevention information was also disseminated through IEC posters at the evacuation centers.

The team also provided support to volunteers through the distribution of doxycycline to volunteers at AFES.

Through continuous assessment, monitoring, and humanitarian assistance, PRC Valenzuela remains committed to responding to the needs of communities during emergencies.

On August 18, 2026, the Philippine Red Cross – Valenzuela City Chapter responded to a fire incident in Sitio Cabatuhan, Gen. T. De Leon, Valenzuela City, affecting 68 families or 260 individuals who sought temporary shelter at Antonio M. Serapio Elementary School (AMSES).

As part of the response, PRC Valenzuela established a Welfare Desk and provided 327 hot meals of Pork Picadillo Rice Meal and 234 loaves of bread to affected families. A Child-Friendly Space was also established to provide children with a safe and supportive environment during the emergency. Roving first aiders were likewise deployed to provide immediate first aid assistance and monitor the well-being of evacuees. In addition, Dengue and Leptospirosis Awareness sessions were conducted for both adults and children to promote disease prevention and early recognition of warning signs. Hygiene Promotion activities were also conducted among children, emphasizing proper handwashing and other healthy hygiene practices to help prevent the spread of illness within the evacuation center.

The Philippine Red Cross – Valenzuela City Chapter provided food provision to families affected by the fire incident in Sitio Cabatuhan, Gen. T. De Leon, Valenzuela City, through our Hot Meals on Wheels service.

Evacuees at Antonio M. Serapio Elementary School received a warm and nutritious Pork Picadillo rice meal, with a total of 300 individuals served, providing nourishment and comfort during this difficult time.

Through timely food provision and humanitarian assistance, we remain committed to supporting communities affected by emergencies.
