Innovations are part of the inevitable change in the world. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is currently the most funded and focused on technological advancement. While previous posted infographics highlighted the basics and concerns about AI, part of being informed is knowing the advantageous and helpful aspects of AI development.

AI should be centered on helping people and specialized applications in areas where it is needed to enhance the quality of life. These innovations are primarily seen in healthcare and electronics industries.

Supporting the use of AI must be done with caution. Such innovations may still pose environmental risks, therefore, further strengthening their effectiveness while looking out for the potential consequences should be handled carefully.

As consumers and creators of AI development, especially media contents, we must be responsible in utilizing AI.

Artificial intelligence (AI) was created to expand human potential, not to replace the very qualities that make humans, HUMANS.

AI can answer questions in seconds by generating essays, designing graphics, and formulating ideas at a remarkable speed. But speed should never be mistaken for the truth. Since these systems learn from vast amounts of internet data, they can also reproduce misinformation, amplify biases, and even present inaccurate contents with confidence. These are widely known as โ€œAI Slopโ€ as they are built to generate what sounds plausibleโ€” not necessarily what is correct.

Beyond the screen lies another reality. Every prompt we send requires powerful data centers that consume a huge amount of electricity and fresh water while contributing to carbon emissions and pollution. Is the convenience we enjoy worth putting our environment at risk?

There is also the question of creativity. When we allow AI to do everything for us, we risk not only diminishing our own skills but also the intellectual property of the people whose works helped train these AI systems.

Technology should empower human intelligence, not weaken it. Let AI remain a tool that supports our learning, creativity, and productivity but never let it be the mind that dreams on our behalf. The future should not belong to artificial intelligence alone. It should belong to humans who dream and know how to use AI responsibly.

The scary possibility presented to us in sci-fi movies was AI turning into โ€œhumans,โ€ and taking over the world. Yet in this reality, it seems like humans are beginning to think less for themselves and more through AI instead.

The advantages of artificial intelligence are undoubtedly evident. The ease of researching topics, being able to ask questions when youโ€™re confused and get a direct, simplified answer is indeed more efficient compared to doing the task manually. What more when AI can also generate texts or images? Its advantages contribute to the efficiency of human tasks that most are shunned by this light of ease; blinded by this convenience to the point where overdependency arises.

Technology is meant to extend our capabilities, not replace them, that is its simplified goal. However, despite the efficiency it contributes, overdependency should never be a settled, normalised outcome. It is us humans that were capable of inventing and expressing our creativity for the improvement of quality of life and for us to feel alive, and it should be us humans that continue to do so.

There is a great difference between using AI to help yourself and using AI to think in your place. No matter what, no matter how, and no matter whenโ€”overdependency should not be an outcome.
