𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬! 🧗‍♂️💪⛑️

Our members just wrapped up a 2-weekend Basic Rope Rescue Training (BRRT) last June, focusing on essential techniques based on NFPA standards. While this training was proudly led by the WISAR Metro North Chapter, we were thrilled to open the doors to all WISAR members across all chapters, bringing everyone together to sharpen our collective expertise.

At WISAR, we believe that mastery of basics and foundational skills is essential for every volunteer responder. Solid foundations ensure that when the time comes to act, we do so safely, efficiently, and effectively.

Over the course of the training, we covered:
• Weekend 1: History of rope rescue, knot tying, anchoring, ascending, descending, and PPE/equipment familiarization.
• Weekend 2: Introduction to mechanical advantage, safety redundancy, patient packaging, and simulation exercises.

📣 A huge shout-out to our incredible instructors Sir Narciso Valdez, Sir John Karingal, and the team at Vertical 8 for their expert guidance.

💚 We also want to thank the Valenzuela City DRRMO and Dr. Arnaldo Antonio for their generosity in providing our training venue, and Ma'am Ester Trinidad for keeping us well-fed!

✨ Lastly, thank you to our chapter executive committee—Gov Geenie Lou Duarte, VG Ren Ancajas, our WMN Chapter Secretariat, and EVP GM Lanozo—for making this vital training possible.

We are now better prepared and more equipped to serve! 🪢✨

Members of the WISAR Metro North Chapter were honored to be on the ground yesterday, June 27, serving as one of the Extrication Teams for the Love Laban Pride PH Festival 2026 at the University of the Philippines Diliman.

We were proud to work as augmentation to the QCDRRMO, deploying in our capacity as Accredited Community Disaster Volunteers (ACDV). It was an incredible experience supporting our community as they gathered to celebrate love, equality, and pride. Always proud to serve and keep everyone safe!

Empowering the youth for a safer community! 🛡️⛑️✨

We are proud to share the success of the KaVolunteer Konek—a multi-day youth development and emergency preparedness initiative in Valenzuela. WISAR Metro North was honored to spearhead the rescue and survival training components, guiding 200 participants through essential lifesaving techniques.

Spearheaded by Congressman Kenneth Gatchalian upon the invitation of WISAR EVP GM Lanozo, this initiative was made possible through a strong collaboration with DSWD (Project LAWA at BINHI), OCD, DOH, BFP, and VCDRRMO.

Training Highlights:
• Search & Rescue & Water Survival: Learning site assessment and lifesaving aquatic techniques.
• Field Survival: Developing essential skills in improvisation, fire making, and knot tying.

A special thanks to our dedicated instructors: GM Lanozo, Ren Ancajas and Tristan Gareth Lanozo (WISAR Metro North), as well as our guest instructors Joel and Kennet Carrillo (WISAR Bulacan) and Stanley Mercado (WISAR Cavite).

Seeing 200 participants step up with such energy and focus was truly inspiring. Together, we are building a safer and more resilient community! 💪⛑️

Congratulations to our WISAR Metro North members, Reecy and Ken, for successfully completing the Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) training last week!

As an 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 (𝐀𝐂𝐃𝐕) unit of the 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐳𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐐𝐂𝐃𝐑𝐑𝐌𝐎), we value these opportunities to level up our technical capabilities.
