Chio, Advent Echoes is an ensemble composed of dedicated students from Mountain View College and faithful members of the Bagontaas Seventh-day Adventist Church in Valencia, Bukidnon. Rooted in a commitment to musical excellence, Christian faith, and service, Advent Echoes continues to share its artistry with grace and purpose—uplifting hearts and glorifying God through the beauty of choral harmony.
THE CONDUCTOR
Laverne U. Dadang is a licensed Civil Engineer who masterfully harmonizes the structural precision of his profession with the soulful artistry of choral music. A 2024 graduate of Central Mindanao University, Laverne successfully passed the Civil Engineering Licensure Examination in the same year—a milestone that launched his dual career in both the technical and creative fields.
While his academic training is in engineering, his life’s work has been deeply rooted in music. For 11 years, he has been a pillar of the Advent Echoes, evolving from a dedicated performer into a visionary leader. In 2026, he assumed the role of 7th Choir Director, where he continues a legacy of choral excellence, guiding the ensemble with a unique blend of discipline and musical sensitivity.
As a versatile musician, Laverne is an accomplished choral singer, violinist, and music arranger. His technical proficiency as a violinist earned him a place in the Southeast Asian Music Festival, where he represented the region's rich musical heritage alongside other premier instrumentalists.
During his university years, Laverne served as the Assistant Director of the Central Mindanao University Music Society under the mentorship of Doreen Gersava. His leadership was pivotal in the ensemble's competitive success at the Mindanao Association of State Tertiary Schools (MASTS) music competitions.
Beyond performance, Laverne is a dedicated educator, facilitating choir clinics and workshops to mentor singers in vocal technique and ensemble unity. His professional experience includes service as an engineer at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Cagayan de Oro City, proving his ability to manage high-stakes technical projects alongside his musical commitments.
A well-rounded individual, Laverne finds inspiration in football, hiking, and photography. Through his leadership and artistry, he demonstrates that engineering and music are two sides of the same coin: both are dedicated to building structures—whether of stone or of sound—that bring people together.
