The Architecture Department of Pangasinan State UniversityโUrdaneta City Campus conducted a freshmen orientation program with the theme โ๐๐ฃ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ: ๐๐ค๐ฌ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐จ, ๐๐ ๐๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ช๐ฉ๐ช๐ง๐๐จ.โ The program was initiated by the United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary (UAPSA)โPSU Urdaneta City Chapter through an online platform to welcome new architecture students to the department.
The morning session officially commenced as ๐๐ฟ. ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐
๐. ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ๐น, ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ผ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ด๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ป๐ด๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ, delivered his welcome address. Then followed by a series of talks and discussions designed to guide the students through the early chapters of their architectural journey.
The first discussion, led by ๐๐ฟ. ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ถ๐ผ ๐ . ๐ฆ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ ๐๐ฟ., the department chairman, covered the nature and significance of architecture, followed by a discussion of university and departmental policies led by ๐๐ฟ. ๐๐๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ ๐ ๐ถ๐๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐ด, the chapter adviser. Drafting materials and tools were also presented through a recorded presentation. Lastly, alumni ๐ ๐ฟ. ๐๐๐น๐ฒ ๐ . ๐๐ผ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ ๐ฟ. ๐๐ฒ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ๐น ๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ป๐ฒ ๐ฅ. ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ด๐ฎ shared practical advice on how to survive architecture school.

These highlighted the importance of leadership and collaboration in architectural education.
Students were also given the opportunity to ๐น๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ฝ๐๐ฏ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐๐๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ด๐๐ถ๐น๐ฑ๐, allowing them to discover new interests and showcase their talents.

The discussions focused on drafting fundamentals, architectural lettering, orthographic projection, pencil rendering, basic anthropometrics, and the proper use of architectural scales. Through lectures, demonstrations, and activities, the students gained practical knowledge that will support them in their future design courses.

The orientation provided freshmen with valuable insights into architectural education and marked the beginning of a new chapter as they took their first steps toward becoming future architects.
