The Book Nook proudly participated in the celebration of the 32nd National Children's Month on November 27, 2024, held at the Municipal Gymnasium. This year’s theme, "Break the Prevalence, End the Violence: Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines," underscored the importance of safeguarding children’s rights and ensuring their well-being. The event brought together elementary students from various barangays across the municipality, with representatives from both private and public schools.

As part of the celebration, The Book Nook prepared an engaging book reading activity, followed by a creative and interactive coloring activity. Students were also invited to participate in an arts and crafts activity, fostering their imagination and self-expression. The event provided a wonderful platform to engage young minds, emphasizing the vital role of literacy, creativity, and artistic expression in shaping a brighter, safer future for children.

The Book Nook Upi, under the leadership of Mayor Ma. Rona Cristina A. Piang-Flores, participated in the Monthly Meeting of Child Development Centers to present the Book Nook Program to the dedicated teachers.

The purpose of the meeting was to establish a collaborative partnership with CDCs in order to provide access to the Books from Book Nook site for FREE.

Through this initiative, the Book Nook site aims to foster a culture of reading and promote literacy in various Child Development Centers within the Municipality and surrounding areas.

The Local Government Unit of Upi-Book Nook Site, under the leadership of Mayor Ma. Rona Cristina A. Piang-Flores proudly sent the Book Nook Upi team to attend the 2nd Book Nook Conference 2024, "D**g D**g Ay!" held at the National Library of the Philippines.

This event was organized by the National Book Development Board and the Book Nook Project.

The conference featured a series of informative sessions aimed at developing and enhancing the Book Nook sites of each beneficiary. Topics included networking/linking with other partners, storytelling, cataloging, breakout sessions for sharing experiences and best practices, and many more.

In addition to the valuable sessions, participants had the opportunity to tour the facilities and amenities of the National Library of the Philippines, Quezon City Public Library, and Valenzuela City Public Library. These visits allowed participants to observe best practices that could be implemented at their own sites.

Overall, the conference was a valuable experience for the Book Nook Upi Team, providing them with new insights and strategies to further improve the Book Nook Site of LGU-Upi and better serve the community.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗕𝗗𝗕 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗡𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸! An annual gathering of NBDB reading space partners from all over the Philippines, it is the biggest and most anticipated event of one of the NBDB's flagship projects. This year's theme, "𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘆!" serves as a unifying call to celebrate the Book Nook Project's progress and victories, as well as to herald the collective commitment to continue nurturing and growing our reading communities throughout the country.
