🌱𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡, 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬.

Today, LAYoung Founding President Jayson Abad had the honor of serving as a Resource Person for the Leadership Training for the new set of Youth Officials of the Upi Youth Governance Program - UYGP, organized by the Kabataang Upian Local Youth Development Office of the Municipality of Upi.

The is a flagship initiative of the that selects 30 young leaders through a rigorous process to experience local governance firsthand for a month, retaining their oath of office for an entire year. Established in 2014, the program aims to nurture potential leaders by introducing them to good governance and upholding the participation rights of young Upians to discuss, plan, and advocate for their communities.

The activity brought together young leaders from across Upi to deepen their understanding of governance, community engagement, and the spirit of volunteerism, values that sit at the very core of what LAYoung stands for.

As a UYGP alumnus and former Youth Mayor of Upi himself, Jays shared his personal journey in youth leadership and public service, drawing from his international engagements and his continuing work in Bangsamoro governance, hoping to inspire the next generation of active, committed, and values-driven young leaders.
