Young people are leaving the church, and a significant reason is how they are treated within it. Often, they are viewed as either (1) lacking intelligence, (2) driven only by emotions and desires, or (3) both. Many churches mistakenly believe they need to "simplify" Biblical, theological, and philosophical teachings because they assume youth can't grasp complex ideas.

But can’t youth understand complex concepts?

They learn CALCULUS in school.
They learn CHEMISTRY in school.
They learn PHYSICS in school.

So, the real issue isn’t that youth can’t comprehend; it’s that youth pastors often aren’t prepared to answer the challenging questions young people ask because they haven’t invested the necessary time and effort to study and understand these answers themselves.

The problem isn’t the youth; it’s the leadership.

Church, it’s time to raise our standards! If teenagers can handle calculus and physics, they can certainly engage with complex Biblical, theological, and philosophical ideas.

They don’t need more snacks.
They don’t need a "cool" pastor.
They don’t need manipulative tactics.

What they need are genuine leaders who are ready to provide thoughtful, rational, and well-reasoned answers to their questions, guiding them deeper into the Christian faith.

Snacks don’t address deep questions.
A "cool" pastor doesn’t make someone Christ-like.
Manipulative tactics don’t teach truth.

Church, it’s time to take action:

We must take young people’s questions and concerns seriously.
We must answer their questions thoughtfully and carefully.
We must teach them the Word of God truthfully.

It’s time to live out 1 Peter 3:15.
