Thea Faye Bedano of Congressional District 3 bounced back from a heartbreaking 4-5 loss in the 9-ball elimination against Congressional District 1 to score a commanding 5-0 sweep over COPRISAA in the 8-ball match, securing her spot in the semifinals.
The last-year Palaro player, who has competed in both 8-ball and 9-ball events, showed the poise of a veteran even after the early setback.
In an interview after her decisive win, Bedano didn't hide her excitement, saying, "Nabudlayan gid ko sang una nga match, pero wala ko nag-untat maghandom nga makasulod sa semis."
She added that the loss motivated her rather than discouraged her, sharing, "Ang pagkapierde amo ang naghatag sa akon sang mas dako nga determinasyon nga maghimo sang maayo sa sunod nga hampang."
Bedano credited her focus and composure at the table for the lopsided result over COPRISAA.
"Ginfocus ko lang gid ang akon dapat himuon, kag ginpahulag ko ang tanan nga stress halin sa una nga game," she said.
With the win, Bedano now advances to the semifinals, carrying the hopes of Congressional District 3 as she eyes a spot in the finals.
Her performance today reflects the growing depth of talent from her district in the billiards scene.
Fans and coaches alike will be watching closely as Bedano looks to continue her strong form heading into the next round.
