(CAVAFFWECO) is the official partner of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in coordination with the Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns (BWSC) in advocating the Family Welfare Program (FWP) in Region 2. All establishments employing more than two hundred (200) workers are mandated to form a Family Welfare Committee (FWC) through the assistance from DOLE Regional Office 2. Those emplo
ying less than 200 workers are encouraged to do the same. Establishments are urged to improve plant-level initiatives that would contribute to the objectives of FWP. They must provide the necessary support, assistance and resources to FWC in the conduct of capability building activities for labor and management representatives. The government believes that the program will result to less absenteeism and high morale of employees. The Family Welfare Program (FWP) seeks to introduce the concept of promoting the welfare of workers and their families as a key to workplace productivity and improved labor-management relations. It is an advocacy program that draws corporate support in promoting workers’ quality of life by adopting a family centered approach in the workplace. The FWP advocates for the integration of the 10 dimensions which also serve as a guide in implementing the program: Reproductive Health and Responsible Parenthood; Education/Gender Equality; Spirituality or Value Formation; Income Generation/Livelihood/Cooperative; Medical Health Care; Nutrition; Environment Protection, hygiene and Sanitation; Sports and Leisure; Housing; and Transportation. FWP aims to: Promote plant-level initiatives to contribute to the goals of the Philippine Population Management Program (PPMP); Instill family planning/family welfare consciousness among labor and management as a key in promoting workplace productivity and improved worker-management relations; and Establish the family welfare component as a major issue of concern and action of the Family Welfare Committee. The implementation strategy of the program is through Information, Education, Communication, and Motivation (IECM). www.facebook.com/CAVAFFWECO
