𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒊𝒈𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕.

The biggest change when you move from school to your first job isn't about your technical skills — it is all about your mindset. A lot of students worry about not being fully "ready" for the real world. But success in tech isn't about knowing everything on day one; it is about learning how to handle different tasks and focusing on what you can do right now instead of stressing over what you don't know yet.

We are featuring 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐨𝐝, Project Manager at Maralabs Linux & Business Solutions, Inc., as she shares how changing her mindset helped her step into the corporate world.

“𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒖𝒑, 𝒇𝒊𝒈𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒕 𝒐𝒖𝒕, 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒉 𝒊𝒕.” — 𝙅𝙤𝙝𝙣𝙖 𝙈𝙖𝙚 𝘽𝙖𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒐𝒅

By taking on part-time roles and side projects while still balancing school, Johna learned a big lesson: mistakes are not interruptions. They are just a normal part of the work. Instead of overthinking the things you don't know yet treat every tough task as a chance to learn on the spot. This is what helps you stay calm when things are new and unfamiliar.

For current ITE students, she encourages being intentional when preparing for the future. There is no fixed path or speed that everyone has to follow—the focus should just be on making consistent progress every day.

No one should be afraid to face hard problems. It pays to get used to getting stuck, then search, test, and learn by doing. ✨
