The undeniable power of female leadership took center stage on June 13, 2026, as the Louisian Women’s Society (LWS) brought silver-screen magic to life for its official turnover ceremony, "Passing the Spotlight: Lumira to Oris." Dressed as iconic movie characters, the officers walked the red carpet to celebrate female creativity and strength, filling the venue with nostalgia and joy as they reflected on the sisterhood's shared milestones and the hurdles they've overcome together.

Guided by LWS Adviser Mrs. Maribel J. Tacata, the afternoon's highlight was the official transition of governance, with outgoing President Ms. Shekinah Rayray taking her final bow and graciously passing the position to newly inducted President Ms. Zybelle B. Catli. As the Lumira era closes and the spotlight shifts to Oris, this new chapter promises to build on a legacy of excellence, ensuring that the passion and wisdom of its leaders continue to illuminate the path ahead for the entire Louisian women's community. ✨🩷

As we commemorate the 128th Philippine Independence Day, we honor not only the bravery of those on the battlefields but also the quiet, profound artistry that gave our nation its visual soul. Under the guiding hand of Marcela MariΓ±o de Agoncillo who was celebrated as the "Mother of the Philippine Flag", alongside her eldest daughter Lorenza Agoncillo and Delfina Herbosa de Natividad, niece of Dr. Jose Rizal, a sacred symbol was born. With every precise stitch of their needles, these three women didn’t just sew fabric together; they bound the hopes, struggles, and sovereign dreams of an entire archipelago into a tapestry of freedom.

More than a century later, the legacy of these women lives on in every Filipino striving to protect our democracy and uplift our communities.
