It is duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and with DSWD as a Social Welfare Development Agency. The SPUP Community Development Center Foundation, Inc., a non-stock, non-profit university-based organization has a strong holistic thrust towards academic excellence, spirituality, value formation, and social responsibility. It carries an extensive community extension and
outreach programs which include development projects for the poor, the depressed, deprived and underserved children and families. It is duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and licensed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) operating across Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR). SPUPCDC’s advocacy has always been for the promotion, protection, and preservation of children’s rights and family welfare in the covered communities. In pursuit of this advocacy, SPUPCDC have been implementing community education and training programs such as parent development sessions, child development sessions, and capacity building training for educators, stakeholders, community leaders, and volunteers. Other projects also include the provision of basic health resources and primary health care training, provision of learning materials, technology integration, and child sponsorship programs. Moreover, enhancement of livelihood skills and technology transfer for food security, asset protection messaging for anticipatory action, disaster risk reduction and management, emergency response, and environmental stewardship were also carried out to further strengthen the implementation of SPUPCDC’s advocacy. Since its establishment in 1989, SPUPCDCFI has served as the social service arm of St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP), driven by the university’s commitment to social transformation and grassroots empowerment. From its inception, SPUPCDCFI has actively organized, trained, and strengthened people’s organization in local communities, particularly small-scale farmers, women, children, and the youth sector. The foundation plays a pivotal role in disaster response and recovery, assisting communities severely affected by natural calamities. Whether addressing the destruction brought by typhoons and widespread flooding or implementing sustainable livelihood programs, SPUPCDCFI remains dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and resilience of its beneficiaries. Currently, SPUPCDCFI operates in seven municipalities in Cagayan and three municipalities in Apayao (CAR), striving to fulfill its mission of serving "the least, the lost, and the last." Through strong partnerships with the SPUP academic and alumni community, development partner organizations such as ChildFund International, German Doctors-Bonn, Global Peace Foundation, Start Network thru Start Ready and Start Fund Consortiums led by the Humanity and Inclusion, local government and national government agencies, and with the direct beneficiaries, SPUPCDCFI fosters collaborative and impactful interventions that maximize long-term sustainability.
