On July 4, 2026, PYAP Tubungan, in collaboration with the LGBTQ Tubungan Community, successfully conducted the PYAP CARES AND PRIDE CELEBRATION 2026 at Barangay Desposorio, Tubungan, Iloiloโa meaningful initiative that celebrated diversity while extending genuine service to the community.
The celebration began with an HIV/AIDS Awareness and Advocacy Seminar facilitated by three resource speakers from the RISE Clinic in Guimbal, who shared valuable knowledge on HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and the importance of eliminating stigma through education and awareness. To further promote health awareness and early detection, free HIV/AIDS testing was made available to individuals who voluntarily participated.
As part of the PYAP CARES initiative, the activity concluded with the turnover of a children's play facility to the Child Development Center (CDC) of Barangay Desposorio. The donated items included a slide, swing, toys, storybooks, educational learning materials, coloring materials, cleaning supplies, along with loot bags for the children. These contributions aim to provide a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment while promoting cleanliness, proper hygiene, and the holistic development of every child.
More than a celebration, this initiative reflected the true essence of youth volunteerism by promoting health awareness, championing inclusivity, and extending meaningful service to the community. It stands as a testament to what can be achieved when organizations and communities unite with a shared commitment to creating positive and lasting change.
