In line with the conduct of the Tour of Luzon organized by Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), please be advised that a temporary closure of Kennon Road will be implemented on May 13, 2026 (Wednesday), from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

This traffic measure is being implemented to ensure the safety of participants during the final leg.

Personnel from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), MPTC, and the local police will be deployed to provide assistance and manage traffic during the event.

Motorists are advised to plan their trips accordingly and may take alternate routes via Marcos Highway and the Asin-Nangalisan-San Pascual-La Union Boundary Road.

Kennon Road is 𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄 to the general public but strictly for light vehicles only, with a 𝐌𝐀𝐗𝐈𝐌𝐔𝐌 𝐋𝐎𝐀𝐃 𝐋𝐈𝐌𝐈𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝟓 𝐓𝐎𝐍𝐒.

Heavy vehicles are advised to take alternate routes:
• Marcos Highway
• Asin - Nangalisan - San Pascual - La Union Boundary Road

Other Site Conditions:
• Temporary Acrow Bridge at Camp 2 has a vertical clearance of 2.50 meters
• Entrance of the rockshed (coming from Baguio City) is one-lane passable

Motorists are advised to exercise caution at all times and strictly observe traffic and safety regulations while traveling.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) – Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) conducted an initial discussion with the Tuba Local Government Unit regarding the proposed upgrade of the Sto. Tomas network aimed at improving internet connectivity in the area and neighboring communities.

DICT-CAR Regional Director Jimmicio S. Daoaten and representatives from the Tuba LGU, led by Municipal Mayor Clarita P. Sal-ongan, together with Atty. George Fukai III, Executive Assistant to Mayor, convened at the Mayor’s Conference Hall, Municipal Building, Poblacion on May 7, 2026, to discuss the necessary steps toward the planned network enhancement project.

FARMERS & FISHERFOLKS MONTH

The Municipality of Tuba proudly celebrates Farmers and Fisherfolks Month this May 2026, with the theme: “Makabagong Magsasaka at Mangingisda: Susi sa Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas.”

Under the leadership of Mayor Clarita P. Sal-ongan, the Tuba Local Government Unit, through the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAgO) headed by Flordelizo B. Abance, is gearing up to conduct a month-long celebration in honor of the municipality’s farmers and fisherfolks.

This marks the first observance of the celebration following the passing of LGU Tuba Ordinance No. 535, series of 2025, which institutionalized the month of May every year as Farmers’ and Fisherfolks’ Month in the Municipality of Tuba. The ordinance aims to raise awareness about the importance of agriculture and fisheries in the local economy by recognizing the achievements and contributions of farmers and fisherfolks to the sustainable development of the municipality. Additionally, it seeks to encourage community participation in activities involving farming and fishing.

In line with this, a series of activities has been prepared throughout the month, including agricultural fairs, distribution of farming and fishing inputs, skills and technical trainings, and recognition programs for outstanding farmers and fisherfolks. These initiatives aim to enhance productivity, promote modern and sustainable practices, and introduce innovative, climate-resilient technologies to address current challenges in the sector.

Anchored on this year’s theme, the celebration also highlights the importance of empowering local producers and encouraging greater participation from the youth and community in agriculture and fisheries.

Residents, stakeholders, and partner agencies are encouraged to actively participate in the scheduled activities.
