𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 🩸

Not all heroes wear capes—some simply roll up their sleeves.

Every heartbeat saved, every life renewed, and every family given hope begins with a simple act of kindness; blood donation. In moments of uncertainty, donated blood becomes a lifeline, connecting strangers through 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 and 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆.

Today, we celebrate the silent heroes whose generosity keeps hearts beating and hope alive. Through the spirit of service and humanity championed by the Red Cross, we are reminded that the greatest gift we can give is the gift of life itself.

Together with the Red Cross Youth, let us honor these remarkable individuals and inspire more people to become part of a movement that saves lives every day.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 & 𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲?

✚ • May 8th was chosen to honor the birth of 𝗛𝗲𝗻𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗻𝘁— Swiss businessman who, after witnessing the horrific suffering at the Battle of Solferino in 1859, advocated for a permanent relief agency for those wounded in war. He then became the founder of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

❨+ • The movement is guided by seven core principles: 𝘏𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘐𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺, 𝘕𝘦𝘶𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘐𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦, 𝘝𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦, 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺, that ensure help is delivered ethically and effectively

✚ • 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄? The Red Crescent emblem was first used during the Russo-Turkish War (1876–1878). Today, both the Cross and the Crescent are recognized as a “visible shield” as symbols of protection for medical services and humanitarian workers under international law.

❨+ • A significant pillar of the movement is its Youth Sector. Youth are often the primary drivers of community-based initiatives, from teaching first aid to leading climate change awareness and social welfare programs—which intertwines with what we are, Red Cross Youth.

Today, on March 7, we celebrate more than just a leader, we celebrate the heart of our service! A very Happy Birthday to the Red Cross Youth President of Lakan Dula High School, Flordeliz Aniag. On March 5 the members of Red Cross Youth Lakan Dula High School Chapter took part in a training on Primary and Secondary Survey in First Aid an important skill in responding to emergencies. The training helped us learn how to properly assess a victim, identify life-threatening conditions, and provide immediate care while waiting for medical professionals to arrive.

Through this experience, we strengthened not only our knowledge but also our teamwork and confidence in handling emergency situations. Trainings like this remind us that being prepared and knowing what to do can truly make a difference when someone’s life is at risk.

RCY LDHS Chapter continues to stay committed to service, preparedness, and helping others in times of need.

𓏵 Fueling the passion for service! Today marked our very first Learning and Meeting Session for our RCY Officers. We didn’t just sit around a table; we traveled back in time to our roots, tracing the history of the Red Cross from the battlefield of Solferino to the global humanitarian force it is today.

𓏵 Understanding our history is the key to mastering our future. By learning about the vision of Henry Dunant and the Seven Fundamental Principles, we are better equipped to carry the torch of humanity within our school and community.

𓏵 But we aren't just looking back—we’re moving forward! We’ve already mapped out our duties for the week, ensuring that our presence is felt where it’s needed most. From safety rounds to student assistance, your RCY Officers are locked in and ready to serve.
