JUNE 24 IS THE NATIVITY OF ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST 🕊️✨

Today, the Church joyfully celebrates the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, the precursor of the Lord and the voice crying out in the wilderness, preparing the way for the coming of Jesus Christ.

St. John the Baptist occupies a unique place in salvation history. Chosen by God even before his birth, he dedicated his entire life to pointing others toward the Savior. His mission was not to draw attention to himself, but to proclaim the One who was to come. Through his humility, courage, and unwavering fidelity to God's will, he became a shining example of authentic discipleship.

The Church celebrates only three birthdays in the liturgical calendar: the birth of Jesus Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and St. John the Baptist. This honor reflects the extraordinary role John played in God's plan of salvation.

As we celebrate his nativity, may we imitate his faith, his humility, and his courage to proclaim the truth. May we also echo his timeless words:

"He must increase; I must decrease." (John 3:30)

St. John the Baptist, prepare the way of the Lord in our hearts. Pray for us! 🙏

PRAYER FOR THE SOLEMNITY OF THE NATIVITY OF ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST 🙏🕊️

Heavenly Father,

Today, we joyfully celebrate the birth of St. John the Baptist, the chosen herald of Your Son, Jesus Christ. We thank You for his life, his witness, and his unwavering commitment to preparing the way for the Lord.

Through the intercession of St. John the Baptist, grant us the courage to proclaim the truth with love, the humility to place Christ at the center of our lives, and the faith to follow Your will even when the path is difficult.

Like John, may we become voices that bring hope to the discouraged, light to those in darkness, and guidance to those seeking You. Help us to prepare our hearts each day for the coming of Christ and to lead others closer to Him through our words, actions, and example.

Lord, purify our hearts, strengthen our faith, and renew our desire to serve You faithfully. May the example of St. John the Baptist inspire us to live lives of holiness, integrity, and joyful discipleship.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

St. John the Baptist, precursor of the Lord, pray for us.
St. John the Baptist, courageous witness to the truth, pray for us.
St. John the Baptist, prepare our hearts for Jesus, pray for us. 🙏✨🕊️
