HIRAYA 2026 gathered 321 student leaders from eight secondary schools at Tigaon Municipal Sports Complex on October 10, 2026 to promote civic engagement, responsible leadership, and mental wellness.
Organized by the Tigaon District Federated Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), the training carried the theme โStanding Firm in Civic Action While Nurturing Mental Wellnessโ and focused on preparing student leaders to serve their schools and communities.
The training featured three sessions covering community involvement, electoral campaigns, and mental health awareness, with question-and-answer portions that allowed participants to engage directly with resource speakers.
Ms. Lourdes A. Tolaram led the first session, โYouth in Action: From Big Ideas to Real Community Projects,โ which discussed turning ideas into meaningful community initiatives.
Mr. Ronald โBongโ A. Rodriguez led the second session, โThe Ballot Box: How Campaigns Work and How We Pick Good Leaders,โ which focused on electoral campaigns and informed decision-making.
Mrs. Aileen O. Plazo-Espiritu, RN, MAN, led the third session, โStanding Together: Stopping Bullying, Caring for Mental Health, and Saving Lives,โ which addressed bullying prevention and mental health awareness.
Performances and team-building activities encouraged interaction among student leaders from different schools, fostering connections beyond the learning sessions.
Mrs. Jovelyn P. Tanay, school head of Efraim Clareza National High School, delivered the opening remarks, followed by the message of purpose from Sakia May S. Ahito, president of the Tigaon District Federated SSLG.
Mrs. Eden S. Ordoรฑez, school head of Eleanor P. Lelis Senior High School, delivered the inspirational message during the opening program.
โThe experience was enjoyable and not boring. I gained valuable lessons, and it served as an opportunity to meet new friends from other schools, which makes it even more unforgettable,โ Cheslyn Kaye B. Mendoza of Efraim Clareza National High School said.
The training encouraged student leaders to apply their lessons on civic participation, responsible leadership, and mental wellness in their respective schools and communities.
