LOOK: Angat Teresa continues to take part in building informed and active communities for the environment. ⛰️✊

Our Environment Head, Justine Joyce Bual, RPF, will be one of the speakers in the first segment, “What’s Happening?: A Local Environment Situationer.” As a Registered Professional Forester, she will present “Rizal’s Landfill Situation,” offering a grounded perspective on an issue that directly affects our communities.

She will also share the environmental initiatives of Angat Teresa, reflecting our ongoing efforts to translate awareness into community-based action.

Through this, we aim to contribute to a broader conversation that encourages participation, responsibility, and collective action for our environment.

Angat Teresa was recently given the opportunity to be part of a master’s research study by a Filipina student from Friedrich Schiller University, where our experiences in disaster response and volunteer engagement were shared through a simple conversation via Google Meet.

It was a meaningful exchange that reminded us that community work, no matter how local it may seem, carries stories and insights worth listening to, learning from, and sharing. More than anything, it affirmed the importance of collaboration, volunteerism, and collective action in responding to the needs of our communities.

“Volunteerism truly helps a community. It is not measured by how many lives you change or how long the impact lasts, but in knowing that, even in small ways, you made a difference. What matters most is showing up in the hardest moments with genuine care, compassion, and empathy.”

Kayang-kaya basta sama-sama!

Angat Teresa Supports the BUKAS Ordinance

A meaningful step forward for participatory governance.

On March 7, 2026, the proposed BUKAS Ordinance (Bukas na Ugnayan at Aktibong Sambayanan) received unanimous support from the Local People’s Council with a 12–0 vote from the Sectoral Representatives.

Angat Teresa, serving as part of the Youth Sectoral Representative, proudly stood among the twelve who endorsed the measure, affirming our commitment to transparent, accountable, and inclusive governance where young people and communities have a voice in shaping local policies.

With this unified support, the ordinance now advances to the Sangguniang Bayan for formal deliberation and the next stage of the legislative process.

BUKAS Ordinance Earns Unanimous Support from the Local People’s Council!

Happy International Women’s Day! 🌸

Women cannot be confined to someone else’s imagination or reduced to passing remarks. Their worth has never been defined by commentary, but by the strength, intelligence, and courage they bring in shaping our communities and our nation.

Women lead, create, organize, and transform the spaces they are part of. They are builders of change and voices of progress.

This Women’s Month, affirms our unwavering commitment to uphold the dignity, leadership, and power of women. We stand for a community where women are respected, empowered, and free to shape the future on their own terms.

05/03/2026

Women cannot be reduced to someone else’s imagination.

Not in the halls of power.
Not in public discourse.
Not anywhere.

Women are leaders, workers, creators, thinkers, and builders of this country. They deserve respect, dignity, and equal space in shaping our society.

This Women’s Month, we reject the many ways women are diminished and affirm their dignity, voice, and power in shaping our communities.
