The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines (IIEE), together with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), successfully carried out the RA 7920 Compliance Assessment and Monitoring (RCAM). This important activity was conducted at Meralco’s facilities, which Meralco generously made available and supported.

This initiative reinforces our shared commitment to upholding Republic Act 7920, strengthening electrical safety, and ensuring professional compliance across the industry.

Our deepest gratitude goes to PRC for its steadfast dedication to professional standards, and to Meralco for graciously providing the venue and extending full cooperation to make this activity possible.

5 – IEC 60076: Power Transformers

Continuing our Standards Committee educational poster series, we highlight IEC 60076, the international standard series covering the design, testing, performance, and application of power transformers.

IEC 60076 establishes key requirements for power transformers, including performance, temperature rise, dielectric strength, sound levels, energy efficiency, and construction. It also defines important testing requirements to help verify that transformers meet specified performance and safety criteria before being placed into service.

This poster provides a quick reference on:
• Scope and key requirements of IEC 60076
• Temperature-rise limits for liquid-immersed and dry-type transformers
• Transformer nameplate information
• Routine tests and related parts of the IEC 60076 series
• Importance of safety, reliability, efficiency, compliance, and global harmonization

Understanding these requirements is essential for engineers involved in the specification, design, procurement, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of power transformers.

Through this poster series, the Standards Committee continues to promote standards awareness and sound engineering practices within the electrical engineering profession.
