On Monday, our representative gave a privilege speech to honor our FSL (Filipino Sign Language) interpreters and defend them from discrimination and inhumane working conditions. As accessibility workers, their role in bridging the gap for our brothers and sisters in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community is invaluable.

We are deeply grateful to our friends at DEAF Access Services -Philippines for their partnership with us, especially Ms. Ember Parpa, their Co-Founder.

We can all do our part to let the Deaf community and FSL interpreter workers know that they are with us in the fight for a more just society.

I would like to bring to your attention that the sign language used in your recent post appears to be incorrect. It was also posted without consulting or seeking permission from the Rizaleño Deaf Federation (RDF) or any recognized Deaf organization.

For matters involving Filipino Sign Language (FSL), we respectfully encourage you to consult qualified FSL interpreters and members of the Deaf community to ensure that the information is accurate, culturally appropriate, and accessible.

We hope future materials will be created in collaboration with the Deaf community to promote proper representation and effective communication.
