Swipe Right to Vote – Cainta Leg 🗳️

The Swipe Right to Vote - Cainta Leg, conducted on April 15, 2026, successfully brought together more than 1,300 students at STI Colleges Ortigas-Cainta for a day of voter education and registration participation activities. Through interactive discussions and on-the-ground engagement, participants gained a better understanding of the electoral process and reflected on the role they play in shaping their communities.

This leg was made possible through the collaboration of Young Public Servants (YPS), Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF), Angat Taytay, and STI Colleges Ortigas-Cainta, in coordination with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC). The strong turnout and active participation of the youth reflect a growing commitment to informed and responsible voting.

As the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections approach, Swipe Right to Vote continues to create spaces where information is accessible, conversations are encouraged, and participation is empowered. The next legs of the campaign will be held in Cebu City and General Santos City, further expanding its reach to young voters across the country.

Swipe Right to Vote 2026 officially kicks off in Cainta!

Last April 15, 2026, the first leg of the initiative was successfully launched at STI Colleges Ortigas-Cainta Campus, made possible through the partnership of the Young Public Servants (YPS), Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF), Angat Taytay, and STI Colleges Ortigas-Cainta, in coordination with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC).

The event brought together more than 1,300 students for a day of voter education and registration activities, creating a space to better understand the voting process and the importance of active civic engagement.

Thank you to everyone who made this first leg a success. This is just the beginning as we continue building informed and empowered young voters across the country!

Matagumpay na inilunsad ng Commission on Elections, sa pakikipagtulungan sa Young Public Servants (YPS), Angat Taytay, at STI Colleges Ortigas-Cainta, ang kampanyang Swipe Right to Vote para sa STI Community sa Eusebio H. Tanco Gymnasium noong ika-15 ng Abril 2026.

Ang inisyatibong ito ay nagsilbing isang komprehensibong plataporma para sa voter mobilization, kung saan pinagsama ang mga makabuluhang talakayan at ang Satellite Registration at Register Anywhere Program (RAP) na nakalaan para sa komunidad ng STI Ortigas-Cainta.

Sinimulan ang programa ng pambungad na pananalita ni Mr. Mark Edward Fabrero, Academic Coordinator ng STI Ortigas-Cainta, na nagbigay-diin sa pangako ng paaralan na hubugin ang civic consciousness ng mga estudyante. Sinundan ito ng mensahe ng pagsuporta mula kay Atty. Joseph S. Vega, Election Officer ng Antipolo City, na humikayat sa mga mag-aaral na gampanan ang kanilang aktibong papel sa pagbuo ng kinabukasan ng bansa sa pamamagitan ng pagboto.

Upang magbigay ng konteksto sa papel ng kabataan sa kasalukuyang political climate, tinalakay ni Mr. Justin Albert Muyot, Executive Director ng YPS, ang isang "Youth Situationer" upang tulungan ang mga estudyante na maunawaan ang kasalukuyang landscape at ang mga hamon ng kanilang henerasyon ngayon.

Lalo pang naging masigla ang talakayan tungkol sa "The Power and Impact of the Youth Vote" sa pangunguna ni Mr. Aaron Altair Suguitan, Deputy Executive Director ng Angat Taytay. Tinalakay rito ang kahalagahan ng inclusivity sa demokrasya sa pamamagitan ng "Celebrating the Female Vote," kung saan ipinakita kung paano pinapatatag ng iba't ibang boses ang electoral process.

Para matiyak na bihasa ang mga kalahok sa mga teknikal na aspeto ng halalan, nagsagawa si Mr. Mark Christopher Ramirez, Information Officer II mula sa COMELEC Education and Information Department (EID), ng isang masusing Voter Education. Nakatuon ang kanyang sesyon sa step-by-step na proseso ng pagboto at ang kahalagahan ng pagiging isang impormado at mapagmatyag na botante.

Bukod sa mga talakayan, nagkaroon din ng hands-on na aktibidad para sa voter readiness. Sa pamamagitan ng Satellite Registration at Register Anywhere Program (RAP), nabigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga miyembro ng STI Ortigas-Cainta Community na magparehistro o i-update ang kanilang records nang hindi na kailangang umalis ng kampus.

Sa nalalapit na Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan Elections, ang mga ganitong partnership ay may mahalagang papel sa pagpuno ng information gaps at sa paghikayat ng active citizenship sa susunod na henerasyon ng mga botante.

Lubos ang pasasalamat ng Angat Taytay sa walang sawang suporta ng ating mga partners na katuwang natin sa pag-organisa ng community pantry.

Sa patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng petrolyo, hiling ng ating mga nakausap na tsuper at operator ang agarang pagpapatupad ng suspensyon ng excise tax at VAT sa mga produktong petrolyo.

Swipe Right to Vote: Cainta Leg

Young Public Servants (YPS) brings Swipe Right to Vote 2026 to Cainta, Rizal, in partnership with STI Colleges and Angat Taytay, as part of its nationwide roll-out to strengthen youth electoral engagement for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).

This school-based activation will engage students through interactive discussions on the voting process, election integrity, and the importance of informed participation. By creating accessible and relevant spaces for civic learning, the initiative aims to equip young voters with the knowledge and confidence to take part in local democratic processes.
