Junior Philippine Institutes of Architects - Tarlac Section (JrPIA - TS) launched their first activity for aspiring architects as part of the celebration of the Philippine Institutes of Architects - Tarlac Section (PIA - TS) 28th anniversary, at the Capitol Center Roof Deck, San Vicente Tarlac City, last Saturday, November 29, 2025.
Following the anniversaryโs theme, โContinuum - Honoring the past and embracing the future; Architecture and Beyondโ, three notable speakers were invited to talk about how AI carries a big impact on everyone in the future.
Ar. Daniel Terence Yu, Ar. Joel V. Rico FPIA, UAP, Ar. Jojo Tolentino which was represented by Ar. John Elbert Juta shared their knowledge about the profession and encouraged the attendees in embracing the new technology available pushing a collaboration with it and the designers.
PIA National President, Ar. Daniel Terence Yu shares his journey with VisionArchs success as the 56th World Architecture Firms, unlocking the true value of an architect. Ar. Yu also shares his views with the rapid growth of technology, โAI cannot anticipate our empathy, us people have dreams and aspirations of something better, AI doesn't have these desires that we all shareโ, Ar. Yu shared.
Following Ar. Yuโs inspiring session, Ar. Joel V. Rico FPIA, UAP currently the Chief operating Officer of Ma Es+ro de Obras, talks about how recognizing history and learning to embrace the future is a big step to achieve a vision.
โHuwag kayo matakot na mawalan kayo ng trabaho dahil sa AI, matakot kayo if you failed to evolve.โ Ar. Joel shared expressing his insights with the rampant use of AI nowadays, where design has evolved from pencil to AI โ translating vision into reality.
The last speaker, Ar. John Elbert Juta representing Ar. Jojo Tolentino tackled the 5th industrial Revolution (Cibernetics) where it emphasizes harmonious human - machine collaboration, prioritizing the well-being of everyone. โThe designers are you and AI is your pen and paperโ Ar. Juta assured the attendees that embracing the evolution of technology is not the end of onesโ work.
The PIA - Tarlac Section and the JrPIA - Tarlac Section, ended this year's architalks thanking the speakers and attendees for joining them on celebrating their 28th anniversary celebration.
