Even as repression is codified into law and executive directives, there are politicians who dismiss and shame protesters altogether. They brand it as unjust, disruptive, destabilizing. They look at the youth who march against corruption and inequality and see not patriots but troublemakers.

WE MUST CALL OUT THIS HYPOCRISY.

It is not protests that destabilize democracy but it is state repression that destroys democracy. Those who sneer at protest while shielding the corrupt are not guardians of order; they are accomplices of plunderers and murderers.

Oras na para i-repeal ang Batas Pambansa 880—relic ng diktadura na ginawang krimen ang mapayapang pagtitipon. Democracy cannot exist where freedom of assembly is treated as a privilege, and not something constitutionally protected.
