Well done, Olympians! The Multi Purpose Hall became a space of recognition on the morning of March 31, as Grade 7 and Grade 11 students gathered alongside their parents for the schoolโ€™s recognition ceremony. At 8 a.m., the program formally opened, marking a significant moment in the academic journey of the awardees.

The ceremony highlighted the achievements of students who demonstrated excellence and consistency throughout the school year. As names were called and awards were presented, each recognition stood as proof of the dedication and perseverance invested over months of study.

Dr. Rex Igoy delivered the keynote message, emphasizing the value of determination and discipline in achieving success. He reminded the students that recognition is not merely the result of talent, but of sustained effort and commitment. His words encouraged the awardees to remain focused as they move forward in their academic paths.

More than a celebration of academic performance, the event underscored the importance of growth beyond the classroom. The school year served as a period of developing not only knowledge, but also values and principles that shape responsible and resilient individuals.

As the ceremony concluded, the awardees of School Year 2025 to 2026 were recognized as exemplars of hard work and dedication. Carrying the pride of being Olympians, they now look ahead to greater responsibilities and opportunities. For the incoming senior students, the moment signaled the beginning of their final chapter, one that calls for continued excellence and purposeful growth.

Congratulations, awardees!

March 28 at the Tarlac City Convention Hall was not just a graduationโ€”it was a quiet ending wrapped in loud applause, a moment where Batch 2025โ€“2026 of Golden Olympus Colleges stood on the edge of everything they once knew. Beneath the gowns and medals were years of shared glances, unfinished jokes, late submissions, and silent battles no one else saw. And as they marched forward, one truth echoed in every step: โ€œWe are proud to be Olympians, forever we will be.โ€

They began as strangers in a noisy classroom, slowly building something real in between lessons and laughter. In those ordinary days, they found something extraordinaryโ€”people who became constants. As their batch song whispered, โ€œSa silid na puno ng ingay, nag-umpisa ang samahan nating tunay,โ€ it was never just about finishing school. It wa s about growing up together, about becoming someone stronger because someone else believed in you.

But growth was never easy. There were days they wanted to give up, moments when the future felt too uncertain, too heavy to carry. Yet they kept going. Because somewhere along the way, they learned what it meant to carry the name they wore with prideโ€”Tatak Olympian. โ€œNasa palad natin ang kinabukasanโ€ฆ laban lang nang laban, huwag mong susukuan.โ€ And so they didnโ€™t. They stayed. They fought. They endured.

In that hall, they were like a saranggolaโ€”once guided, now slowly released. โ€œSaranggolaโ€™y lilipad sa kahel ng kalangitanโ€ฆโ€ a quiet reflection of who they have become. They may be heading in different directions, carried by their own winds, yet one truth remains steady: โ€œsaโ€™n man tayo hipan ng amihan, โ€™di ipagpapalit ang pagkakaibigan.โ€ The string may no longer be held the same way, but it was never truly cutโ€”it only stretched, connecting them across distance and time.

And in the end, they didnโ€™t say goodbye. They carried each other forward. โ€œMalubak man ang daanโ€ฆ โ€˜wag mangamba, tuloy lang, kaibigan.โ€ Because no matter where life takes them, they will always have that room, those memories, and that unspoken promiseโ€”that somewhere out there, someone is still rooting for them. Always.

Tibay Olympian.
Talas Olympian.
Tatak Olympian.
Lakas Olympian.

On March 6, hope was not just felt โ€” it was experienced โ€” as 147 families in Sitio Baag, San Jose, Tarlac City witnessed the turnover of a restored deepwell that promises more reliable access to clean water for the community. The outreach program, organized in coordination with the GOC HS Department, NSTP 2, and the College Department, centered on service, solidarity, and sustainable impact through the project titled โ€œBalon Para sa Kinabukasan.โ€

After the formal opening, the atmosphere shifted to celebration and joy as children and parents participated in a lively dance segment and engaging games. Laughter filled the space as participants enjoyed the activities together. Water guns were distributed to the children, adding excitement and creating unforgettable moments for the young participants.

For years, the community relied on only two deepwells, making water access limited and challenging for daily household needs. The restoration of the deepwell marks a significant step toward addressing this concern and strengthening access to one of lifeโ€™s most essential resources.

The deepwell restoration project was made possible through the guidance of Mr. Karl Mannuel L. Cabrera, NSTP 2 Professor, and through the leadership of Dr. Rex I. Igoy, College Dean, and Mrs. Nancy V. Que, President. Their support and commitment played a vital role in ensuring the successful implementation and completion of the project.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony formally marked the completion and turnover of the restored deepwell to the residents. The ceremony symbolized progress, partnership, and renewed hope โ€” reinforcing the message that collective effort can create sustainable change and long-term impact.

Balon Para sa Kinabukasan stands as a testament to how collaboration between institutions and communities can transform challenges into opportunities and secure a brighter future through access to essential resources.

To God be the Highest Glory.

Well done! NSTP students conducted an outreach activity in Sitio Baag on March 6 that focused on restoring the communityโ€™s deep well and distributing basic necessities to local families.

The volunteers began preparing as early as 5:30 in the morning before traveling to the sitio. Sitio Baag is composed of 147 families, many of whom rely on deep wells as their primary source of water.

Before the activity, the community only had two functioning wells because the main water source, locally known as the โ€œbomba,โ€ had been damaged. Because of this, restoring the deep well became one of the main goals of the outreach program so residents could have better access to water again.

Along with the restoration effort, volunteers also distributed 147 hygiene packages, ensuring that each family received one set. Each package contained essential items such as shampoo, toothpaste, detergent, a toothbrush, a dipper, and a towel.

In addition, more than one hundred pairs of slippers were also given to members of the community.

The outreach program was conducted under the guidance of NSTP subject teacher Sir Karl Cabrera, who supervised the students throughout the activity.

According to Ms. Lucy Vargas, one of the heads of the activity, the project was designed to help the community in a way that would create a lasting impact.

She explained that Sitio Baag was chosen because the NSTP students wanted to restore the deep well that serves as the communityโ€™s main source of water. She added that the goal was to create a program that would have a long term impact on the community instead of simply providing short term assistance.

The organizers and the community also expressed their gratitude to the GOC administration for their support in making the project possible, including their participation in the ribbon cutting ceremony for the restored deep well.

For the students and volunteers, the outreach activity also became a meaningful experience.
Ms. Monique Que, Head of Student Affairs, shared that the program gave her a new perspective.

She said the experience reminded her that life can be simple and that it is important to share blessings with others. She also emphasized that activities like this encourage people to step out of their comfort zones and extend help to other communities.

The successful restoration of the deep well and the distribution of essential supplies brought immediate help to the residents of Sitio Baag while also strengthening the studentsโ€™ commitment to community service.

Golden Olympus Colleges (GOC) proved to be a powerhouse of logic and numbers, securing 4th Place Overall at the 2026 Mathematics Fair Division Level.

This ranking is based on the combined points earned by all GOC participants across various categories, including the Quiz Bee, Math Jingle, Solving a rubikโ€™s cube, and Sudoku challenges.

By consistently placing in the top tiers of individual events, GOCโ€™s "Mathletes" moved the school into the Top 4 out of the entire division's competing schools, guided by their coaches: Sir Eugune Lacsina, Maโ€™am Altagarcia Simon, and Sir Gabriel Cawigan.

This overall finish highlights the strength of the GOC Mathematics program and the collective hard work of both the students and their coaches.

Whether through individual medals or high-ranking finishes, every GOC representative contributed to this impressive school-wide victory.

Mharwen Jay Guiang from 11 - Zeus proved his mental sharpness by taking๐Ÿ…4th Place in the Senior High School Sudoku competition (Stage 4) at the 2026 Mathematics Fair.

Sudoku at this level is a true battle of logic. Competing against the best solvers in the division, Mharwen had to fill complex 9x9 grids with speed and perfect accuracy.

One wrong number could ruin the whole board, but he stayed focused under the ticking clock to secure his spot among the top five.

Finishing 4th in such a difficult category shows that Mharwen is one of the division's brightest strategic thinkers.

With only one week of preparation, Golden Olympus Colleges proved that discipline and teamwork can outweigh time constraints, earning a ๐Ÿฅ‰ Bronze finish in the Math Jingle competition at the Mathematics Fair Division Level 2026.

Turning mathematical concepts into rhythm and rhyme, the Olympians delivered a synchronized and confident performance that reflected both creativity and academic precision. The team: Jonalyn Tubilan, Joseph Ocampo, Thalia Tanamal, Jorell Alfonso, Jairus Apolonio, Renzer Dela Cruz, Blythe Mallari, and Allian Juliana Nabongโ€”maximized limited training time through focus, coordination, and collective effort.

Despite the short preparation period, their podium finish demonstrates adaptability, commitment, and the ability to perform under pressure.

On February 26, 2025, at the Golden Olympus Colleges Multipurpose Hall, the long-awaited STEM Day officially commenced with the theme โ€œSTEM-Spire: When Curiosity Becomes Creation.โ€ Students cheered in excitement from the start of the event, and through friendly competition and a spirit of excellence, the following teams prepared for a day filled with action:

โ€“ Ptolemy and Apollo
โ€“ Euclid and Hera
โ€“ Archimedes and Atlas
โ€“ Pythagoras and Zeus

To begin the day, Mr. Eugene Lacsina shared his opening remarks, wishing the students and coordinators a day of celebration and competition.

Before the games began, Mr. Aaron Dimatulac delivered an inspiring message centered on his environmental vision, encouraging students to become more aware of proper waste management.

Afterwards, the teams gathered with their strategic minds ready for the games and activitiesโ€”Amazing Race: STEM Edition, Digital Poster Making, Build a Bridge, Bottle Blast Off, and Mystery Lab: Solving through the Scientific Method. With determination and teamwork in mind, each group competed enthusiastically, and different teams excelled in different fields.

Due to equipment difficulties and time constraints, the teams were unable to successfully launch their bottled rockets during the Bottle Blast Off activity and were also unable to proceed with the Mystery Lab: Solving through the Scientific Method game. However, the students remained optimistic and continued to actively participate in the rest of the games.

The winners are as follows:

Digital Poster Making
3rd Runner-Up: Ptolemy and Apollo
2nd Runner-Up: Pythagoras and Zeus
1st Runner-Up: Archimedes and Atlas
Champion: Euclid and Hera

Amazing Race: STEM Edition
3rd Runner-Up: Ptolemy and Apollo

1st Runner-Up: Pythagoras and Zeus
Champion: Archimedes and Atlas

Build a Bridge!
3rd Runner-Up: Ptolemy and Apollo
1st Runner-Ups: Archimedes and Atlas; Euclid and Hera
Champion: Pythagoras and Zeus

Quiz Bee Showdown

To conclude, the event wrapped up with a speech by Ms. Kathleen Mariano, one of the event heads, expressing her gratitude for the success of the day.

The celebration serves as a reminder that each student thrives with integrity, proving that the STEM strand goes beyond mathematics and science. It is when students allow their curiosity to create and grow. As a wise philosopher once said:

โ€œImagination is more important than knowledge.โ€ โ€” Albert Einstein

Forty years ago, thousands of Filipinos stood along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue. They faced tanks with prayers, courage, and unity. From February 22 to 25, 1986, the People Power Revolution ended two decades of authoritarian rule under Ferdinand Marcos Sr.. It restored democratic institutions. It showed the world what peaceful resistance looks like.

Today, we mark its 40th anniversary. As students, we inherit both the freedom won in 1986 and the burden of protecting it. We study in classrooms where we speak without fear. We post opinions online without fearing for our safety. We vote when we reach legal age. These rights did not appear overnight. They were fought in the streets of EDSA.

History records that the revolution drew millions to the streets. It forced a change without a civil war. It inspired similar movements in other countries. Yet history fades when it is not guarded. Misinformation spreads faster than diseases. Social media clips replace primary sources. Some reduce EDSA to a working holiday.

As learners, we must reject indifference.
You honor EDSA when you read beyond headlines. You honor EDSA when you question claims with evidence. You honor EDSA when you register and practice your rights to vote. You honor EDSA when you spread truth amongst your peers.

Will this generation protect what was restored?
The answer should be firm.
We will remember. We will study the facts. We will stand for democratic values.
EDSA was powered by people. Its future still depends on them.
