In celebration, and as part of the culmination of Women’s Month, the University of the Philippines Manila School of Health Sciences (UPM SHS) Tarlac Work Extension Service Committee, together with the 4th Campus Student Council, successfully conducted an outreach activity at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Tarlac Women’s Dormitory, an initiative rooted in empowerment, education, and compassion.

The activity featured an informative discussion on the Magna Carta of Women, highlighting the rights, dignity, and protection that every woman deserves. This was followed by a Basic Life Support (BLS) training participated in by the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL), jail guards, and criminology students, equipping them with essential, life-saving skills.

As we culminate Women’s Month, may this initiative remind us that empowerment reaches beyond boundaries and that every woman, regardless of circumstance, deserves to be valued and uplifted.

Ma. Pia Gilbas, Chairperson of the Campus Student Council at the University of the Philippines Manila School of Health Sciences-Tarlac, announces the appointment of Rheann Gwenette L. Tayag as the new Campus Student Council Secretary-General. This appointment follows the term of the previous Secretary-General from the 3rd Campus Student Council, Ma. Pia Gilbas.

As issues and concerns arise, the Council continues to advocate and campaign alongside the students. For the first time, we will hold a campus Town Hall Meeting, a chance to share experiences, concerns, and suggestions. Your input will help shape the Student Council’s agenda and ensure student needs are raised to the administration.

We urge all students to send in their comments and ideas to strengthen the SAGD and to join the meeting to personally raise questions to the administration.

Five years ago, a vision was planted a vision of accessible, community-oriented health sciences education rooted in honor, excellence, and service. This year, we proudly celebrate the 5th Founding Anniversary of the University of the Philippines Manila School of Health Sciences Extension Campus in Tarlac, a growing institution that continues to shape compassionate, competent, and community-driven health professionals.

Through every challenge we faced and every milestone achieved, UPM SHS Tarlac has remained steadfast in its commitment to serve the people especially those in underserved communities. From classrooms to communities, from training grounds to grassroots engagement, our journey reflects the true spirit of Iskolar Pampamayan: leadership with integrity, excellence with humility, and service with heart.

The Constitutional, Arbitrational, and Electoral Student Board (CARE Board) formally announces the conclusion of the Voting Period for the 4th UP Manila SHSci Tarlac Student Council Midterm Elections 2026, held under the theme, “In Service of the Students, In Step to the Future.”

With great pride, the CARE Board also shares that the elections achieved a remarkable 100% voter turnout, a testament to the active participation and unity of the student body.
