FEATURE|| Run as One: 85 Years of Courage, Camaraderie, and Girl Power
At the break of dawn on October 12, 2025, the Quirino Grandstand became a sea of green scarves, eager smiles, and unstoppable energy. Hundreds of Girl Scouts from across the country gathered not just to run — but to celebrate 85 years of courage, friendship, and the unbreakable rhythm of sisterhood in the Girl Scouts of the Philippines’ grand event, Run as One.
The celebration began with a fun run, where every stride told a story — of leadership, growth, and unity. The girls ran side by side, their laughter blending with the morning air, as if each step echoed the heartbeat of 85 remarkable years. They weren’t running toward a finish line; they were running together — carrying the legacy of generations who once ran before them.
But the movement didn’t stop there. As the sun climbed higher, the runners turned performers, filling the Quirino Grandstand with rhythm, color, and pride. The stage transformed into a living celebration of culture and creativity through dance presentations and competitions that captured the vibrant spirit of the scouts.
Among the dazzling performers were the Girl Scouts from Matatalaib High School, representing the Tarlac Council, who brought the crowd to life with their Pana-Pana Festival-inspired dance. With every twirl and beat, they told a story of community and joy — their synchronized movements reflecting the unity that binds every scout, from Tarlac to the rest of the nation. Their performance was more than a dance; it was a graceful continuation of the morning’s run — a dance of strength, sisterhood, and shared dreams.
As the music faded and the cheers filled the air, Run as One left more than footprints on the ground — it left inspiration in every heart that witnessed it.
Because when Girl Scouts run as one, they don’t just cross the finish line — they inspire a generation to keep running toward a brighter future.
