MSCCP is a non-stock, non-profit, and non-political cooperative duly registered with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), and Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). It was founded in March 2001 under the name SIKAP Philippines Foundation, later accelerated to Federation of MSCCP (Mutual Savings and Credit Cooperatives of the Philippines) and now being called Mutual Savings and Credit Cooperativ
e of the Philippines by merging all the primary cooperatives of MSCCP. It is supported by CICM (Centre International du Credit Mutuel), an international non-profit organization dedicated to promote economic and social development in developing countries by giving everyone access to financial services, especially people excluded from the traditional banking sector. CICM is MSCCP's sustainer and partner in order to develop a financially autonomous and independent credit cooperative with productive, democratic and self-reliant communities based on the principles of solidarity. MSCCP is a cooperative owned by its members and controlled by voluntary elected representatives: 6 satellite offices in Cavite Province, 1 in Las Pinas City and 1 in Alabang as serve more than 8,000 members.
