Volunteers, teachers, and non-teaching personnel successfully carried out Brigada Eskwela 2026, working hand in hand to prepare the school for School Year 2026โ€“2027.

The school launched the week-long activity on June 1, 2026, with the theme, โ€œBayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman.โ€ On the same day, the school conducted student enrollment at the Mabini National High School Gymnasium, giving learners and parents convenient access to school services.

Following the opening program, volunteers immediately cleaned classrooms, repaired damaged chairs and other furniture, and removed unused materials from classrooms and offices. The school served lugaw to support the volunteers, while organizers assigned them to designated areas to ensure an efficient workflow.

On the second day, volunteers continued cleaning and repairing school furniture to maintain safe and conducive learning spaces.

The third day highlighted strong community partnership and cooperation. The Sangguniang Kabataan of Talomo Proper distributed school supplies to students, helping families reduce expenses for school materials. Meanwhile, personnel from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 11 of the Philippine National Police helped the school by moving unused heavy materials and clearing plywood and metal debris from the campus grounds to ensure safety.

Parents and guardians also extended their support by donating cleaning and maintenance supplies such as brooms, detergents, floor wax, paint, and brushes. Their contributions significantly helped prepare classrooms and offices for the upcoming school year.
On the fourth day, representatives from Savemore joined the activity and assisted in various school improvement efforts. Their participation helped speed up cleaning and repair activities. Volunteers also repainted chairs, walls, and doors, improving the overall school environment.

The program concluded with a closing ceremony that recognized and thanked all volunteers and donors for their contributions to the school preparation efforts.
Through the collective efforts of stakeholders, volunteers, parents, and partner organizations, Mabini National High School successfully carried out Brigada Eskwela 2026, reflecting the true spirit of bayanihan. The school now stands ready to welcome learners for a productive academic year.

The Department of Educationโ€™s (DepEd) Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Summer Program 2026 is currently being conducted to help learners improve their foundational skills before the opening of the next school year. The remediation and tutorial program runs from May 6 to June 3, 2026.

The program primarily focuses on assisting students who need support in reading. At Mabini National High School, around 92 students were expected to participate. However, only 23 learners were able to attend the said program.

According to the teachers handling the ARAL Program, one of the challenges encountered was reaching students who do not have access to social media platforms or mobile phones. Despite the low number of participants, teachers continue to extend their efforts in helping students enhance their reading skills through various activities such as activity sheets, picture analysis, and other engaging learning exercises.

The ARAL Program aims to provide struggling learners with the opportunity to strengthen their reading abilities and become more prepared for the upcoming school year. Through the dedication of teachers and the support of DepEd, the program continues to serve as an important initiative in addressing learning gaps among students.

Marking the end of a rigorous academic endeavor, Mabini National High School celebrated its 11th Commencement Exercises and 8th Moving-Up Rites on March 30, 2026 at the Philippine Womenโ€™s College of Davao. The event was held under this yearโ€™s theme: โ€œFilipino Graduates: Prepared to Lead with Competence and Character.โ€

The ceremony honored a total of 359 students who successfully met the requirements of their respective levels. The Senior High School program produced 115 graduates, consisting of 59 female and 56 male students, now prepared for higher education or the workforce. Moreover, a larger cohort of 244 completersโ€”composed of 134 female and 110 male studentsโ€”celebrated their transition to Senior High School.

The formal confirmation of graduates was led by Public Schools District Supervisor Roberto Binag, PhD. During the rites, the ceremony emphasized that these students are not just leaving with diplomas and certificates in hand but are moving forward as Filipinos prepared to take on leadership roles anchored in integrity and skill.

The ceremony took an inspiring turn with guest speaker Rev. Fr. Francis Flores, a proud alumnus of Batch 2011. The newly ordained priest won over the crowd by candidly reflecting on his own โ€œmischievousโ€ high school days at MNHS, proving that character is a journey of transformation rather than a destination of perfection.
Addressing the 359 students directly, Father Flores offered a heartfelt reminder of the faith and persistence required for the road ahead. โ€œTo our dear graduates and completers, as you take the next step on your journey, please do not give up,โ€ he urged. โ€œAyaw pud ninyo kalimti ang Ginoo.โ€

Closing the ceremony, Principal III Milrose Yvette B. Gultiano reminded the students that Mabini would always be home. โ€œWherever life plants you, Mabini will always be here to welcome you,โ€ she said. โ€œBecause once a Mabinian, always a Mabinian.โ€

Mabini National High School reached another milestone as one of the selected schools in Davao City to administer the first-ever computer-based National Achievement Test (NAT) for Grade 12, held from March 9 to 18, 2026. Departing from the traditional method, Mabini strengthened its efforts to meet the required standards by ensuring that the computer laboratory was fully prepared and functional. Moreover, the school conducted thorough reviews to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills for the examination.

According to School Testing Coordinator Maโ€™am Charlene L. Fernandez, the NAT aims to measure how well students have learned the expected competencies in senior high school, helping schools and the Department of Education identify strengths and areas for improvement. Additionally, the results inform decision-making, improve educational programs, and ensure that students are prepared for higher education, employment, and future opportunities.

Grade 12 students prepared through weeks of review. For Anne Escalante, this meant maintaining a strategic balance. โ€œI focus more on the subjects where I know I am weak. โ€œHowever, I make sure that I still pay attention to the subjects I am good at,โ€ she shared. These review sessions were not limited to school hours, and Escalante also made use of online resources and reviewers to master difficult subjects.

Despite their grades not being affected, students like Escalante exerted effort to achieve their target scores, noting that the NAT helps them qualify for their desired courses.

As Grade 12 students move one step closer to graduation and their chosen paths, the successful implementation of the first-ever computer-based NAT reflects more than just an examinationโ€”it serves as a gateway to their future careers.
