𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 | 𝑪𝒉𝒆𝒄𝒌 & 𝑩𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆: 𝑨 𝑺𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒓 𝒐𝒏 𝑳𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒍 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝑷𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒚 𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈
The TCC Political Science Society successfully concluded its enhancement program on April 11, 2026 with the title"𝑪𝒉𝒆𝒄𝒌 & 𝑩𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆: 𝑨 𝑺𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒓 𝒐𝒏 𝑳𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒍 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝑷𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒚 𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈" held at Building A, Room 202. The event served as a platform for insight and intellectual enrichment, showcasing the important role of policy-making in shaping our country.
The program formally commenced with the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected officers, marking a commitment to leadership and service. This was followed by a warm and inspiring welcome address delivered by Sir Carmelo Torino, who emphasized the timeliness of the challenges faced in today's time. He highlighted that being a public servant is not merely a position, but a responsibility that demands integrity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding for the legal standards in policy-making.
After the warm welcome message, Sir Sam Nopal, the organization's adviser, then formally introduced the distinguished guest speaker, Sir Kian Pasaylo, whose expertise and experience set the stage for a meaningful seminar proper.
The seminar was full of participation and engaging interactions. Students were encouraged to actively share their thoughts and insights, which truly was a big help to the student's immersive learning environment. The discussion delved into the complexities of legal standards in policy-making, discussing the bill of rights and how important due process clause and equal protection clause is, as well as the statutory construction, allowing students to grasp foundations and practical applications of these standards of policy-making.
Through thought-provoking examples and real cases, the speaker highlighted the importance of checks and balances in ensuring accountability. The political science students, showed enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity not only during the seminar but as well as on the open forum, reflecting their potential as future public servants dedicated to nation-building. The seminar did not only expanded the students knowledge, but also inspired them to take an active role in shaping policies.
