Something big just got signed with BBC and DOST TUPV HIVE. ✍️.

Today, April 7, 2026, the Bacolod Business Community leveled up as we officially sealed a strategic partnership with DOST TUP-V HIVE during the TUP-V Technology Convention at Ayala Malls Capitol Central Activity Center. I had the privilege of representing BBC in this milestone moment—one that signals a bold move toward innovation and future-ready business growth.

This collaboration is more than a signature on paper—it’s a commitment to empower MSMEs with the tools, technology, and ecosystem they need to scale, compete, and thrive in today’s fast-paced landscape.

Grateful to have BBC Vice President Miguel Brito as my witness, and to share the moment with Sir Danilo Ortega PeĂąaverde Jr.

A big thank you to Sir Dr. Eric Malo-oy, Campus Director of TUP-V, and Ma’am Rutchel Estaniel Pabalinas, Head of External Affairs and Linkages and Consortia, for trusting BBC and believing in this shared vision of progress.

We’re not just building connections—we’re building the future of Bacolod business. And this is only the beginning.

Empowering Brews ☕💥: Villamonte Women Turn Passion into Possibility

BACOLOD CITY — This Women’s Month didn’t just celebrate strength—it brewed it.

Last March 29, 2026, thirty empowered young women gathered at the Barangay Villamonte People’s Hall for “Coffee 101,” an immersive workshop designed to transform simple coffee lovers into future entrepreneurs in the making.

Leading the session was Glifan Kim Delicana, founder of Mr. Kim Coffee, who broke down the essentials of specialty coffee—from sourcing and roasting to mastering the art and science behind every perfect cup. But this wasn’t just about coffee—it was about unlocking opportunity.

Participants went hands-on with brewing methods like V60, French Press, Aeropress, and Moka Pot, and crafted their own iced coffee using cold brew—turning curiosity into real, practical skill.

This initiative was powered by the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Villamonte, led by SK Chairperson Alyza Marie Mahilum and Economic Empowerment Chair Hon. Mia Sumagaysay, in collaboration with the Bacolod Business Community—a strategic move to align skills development with real-world livelihood opportunities.

💬 “We wanted more than just a seminar—we wanted impact,” shared Chairperson Mahilum. “This is about showing young women that their passion can become profit.”

And that’s exactly what happened.

As the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the hall, so did a powerful realization:
the future isn’t just female—it’s entrepreneurial, skilled, and ready to rise.

Special thanks to Jedrick Go of Cyber Motorbikes for the support.

Congratulations to our BBC Member, Carie Joy Sitchon, for successfully leading an Empanada Making Seminar in collaboration with our partner community in Brgy. Villamonte, under the leadership of SK Chairwoman Alyza Marie Mahilum, held last March 29, 2026 at the 3rd Floor of the Barangay Hall, Bacolod City.

This initiative goes beyond skills training—it’s about creating real opportunities. By equipping out-of-school youth with practical livelihood skills, the Bacolod Business Community continues to turn purpose into action and impact into income.

This is what nation-building looks like at the grassroots level.
