Skills that save lives โ›‘๏ธ๐Ÿ›Ÿ

In observance of World Drowning Prevention Day last July 25, TESDA continues to invest in people whose skills save lives through the Capability Building Program for Prospective Regional Lead Assessors in Lifeguard Services NC II and NC III, held in Tubigan, Initao, Misamis Oriental.

Conducted in partnership with the Philippine Lifesaving Society (PLS), the program prepared prospective Regional Lead Assessors to mentor future Competency Assessors and uphold the credibility, consistency, and quality of competency assessment nationwide.

This initiative underscores TESDA's commitment to quality assurance, public safety, and the development of globally competitive Filipino professionals, contributing to safer communities and aquatic destinations across the country.

Today, we unite to raise awareness and take action to prevent drowningโ€”because every life is worth saving.

Drowning is preventable through education, supervision, water safety awareness, and lifesaving skills. Together, let us empower families, communities, and individuals to make safe choices in and around the water.

Remember the essentials:
๐Ÿ’™ Supervise children at all times.
๐Ÿ›Ÿ Wear a life jacket when appropriate.
๐ŸŠ Swim only in designated safe areas.
๐ŸŒฆ๏ธ Check weather and water conditions before entering the water.
๐Ÿšจ Learn CPR and basic lifesaving skills.

On this World Drowning Prevention Day, let us work together to build a safer future where everyone can enjoy the water with confidence and responsibility.

Together, we can prevent drowning. Together, we save lives.

Mabuhay! ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ
โ€‹
On behalf of the Board of Directors and the entire Philippine Life Saving family, We extend our warmest greetings to all our lifeguards, water safety advocates, first responders, and community partners as we celebrate World Drowning Prevention Day this 25th of July! โ€‹Today, we stand in solidarity with the World Health Organization (WHO) and global aquatic safety leaders under the theme "Unite to Turn the Tide."
โ€‹
In an archipelagic nation like ours, water brings life, livelihood, and joy to millions of families. But water also presents risks that require our constant vigilance, continuous training, and shared responsibility. Drowning is a silent epidemicโ€”yet it is 100% preventable.
โ€‹
To our dedicated instructors, volunteer lifesavers, and beach patrol teams working tirelessly on the frontlines from coast to coast:

Thank you for your service and commitment. You are the backbone of our mission to ensure every Filipino can enjoy our waters safely.
