Interesting story

They mocked him for believing Earth could move beneath our feet

The year was 1912. Alfred Wegener stared at a world map and noticed something no one else dared to take seriously. The continents looked like puzzle pieces that once fit together. Africa and South America. India and Antarctica. Australia and Madagascar. The shapes lined up like a shattered globe waiting to be reassembled.

Most scientists shrugged. Wegener refused to look away.

He found fossils of the same animals on continents separated by entire oceans. The Mesosaurus, a tiny freshwater reptile, existed in both Brazil and South Africa. Heavy-seeded plants that could not cross oceans appeared across continents thousands of miles apart. Ancient mountain chains matched like pages torn from one book.

His conclusion was bold. The continents were drifting.

They laughed at him. They called his idea fairy tale science. He had the evidence but not the mechanism. If continents moved, what force moved them? No answer meant no acceptance.

Wegener died believing he failed.

Then came the 1950s. Sonar mapping revealed massive mid ocean ridges. Magnetic stripes on the ocean floor proved seafloor spreading. Plate tectonics was born. The world finally caught up.

Wegener had been right all along.

Progress often begins with ridicule. Truth does not rush to be believed. It waits for brave minds willing to see what others ignore.

At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer: If it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us; it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen we must live through all time or die by su***de.
I submit tonight at this summit conference that the greatest treat to the church is not Hollywood, it's not Sports, it's not Secular music, it's not Worldliness in general. Its forgetting who we are and why we are here.Its forgetting our DESTINY.
