Day 5 of Linggo ng Kabataan (LNK) 2026, weโre not just celebrating the youthโweโre equipping them for life! ๐ฏ
Held today at the Dela Rama Hall, Talisay City Hall, two meaningful activities brought together young people and communities for a day of skills, empowerment, inclusion, and opportunities with the guidance of City Social Welfare and Development Officer Dionela Madrona, Executive Assistant for the Youth Saulo Lizares and Local Youth Development Officer Katherine Lo Rebelica.
๐โโ๏ธ HILOT: Healing, Independence, Livelihood Opportunities, and Transformation
Talk about a hands-on approach to a brighter future! ๐
Through the HILOT Skills Training in Massage Therapy, Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL), in partnership with the Crisis Intervention Unit โ Balay Pasilungan, were given an opportunity to learn a practical and potentially livelihood-generating skill.
Because sometimes, a fresh start begins with learning a new skillโand yes, this one literally comes with a healing touch. โโจ
More than massage techniques, HILOT is about opening doors to independence, livelihood, confidence, and transformation. A reminder that every young person deserves the chance to learn, grow, and build a better tomorrow.
๐จ๐ณ๏ธโ๐ READY, SET, OUT, LOUD, RESPOND!
Meanwhile, our LGBTQIA+ community and youth rolled up their sleeves for Basic First Aid Training, because being prepared is always in style! ๐ฉน๐งฐ
In partnership with Talisayโs Bravestโthe City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and the Bacolod City Host Lions Club, participants learned essential first aid knowledge and emergency response skills.
Our guest speaker, John Phillip Gallego of TCDRRMO, shared valuable lessons designed to help participants become more confident and capable when emergencies happen.
With 30 participants taking part, the message was clear:
Hindi lang dapat โfirstโ sa selfieโdapat FIRST AID ready rin! ๐๐ธ๐ฉน
And because preparedness is better when you have the right tools, the Bacolod City Host Lions Club generously donated first aid kits and vests to the LGBTQIA+ community, helping turn knowledge into readiness and readiness into action. ๐ฆบ๐งฐโค๏ธ
Under the leadership of Mayor Weng Lizares, the City Government of Talisay continues to fully support programs that equip, empower, include, and create opportunities for our young people.
Because for Mayor Weng, investing in the youth isn't simply about celebrating them todayโitโs about preparing them to lead, serve, earn, respond, and make a difference tomorrow.
From healing hands to helping hands, from livelihood skills to life-saving skillsโthis is what Linggo ng Kabataan is all about.
โจ YOUTH WITH SKILLS.
YOUTH WITH PURPOSE.
YOUTH READY FOR WHATโS NEXT.
And in Talisay, we donโt just say โPadayon!โ
We make sure our young people have the skills, support, and opportunities to actually move forward. ๐๐ช
