๐ฑ๐ Celebrating the Graduation of our Young Farmers ๐๐ฑ
The Farmers Field School (FFS) on Vegetable Production for Young Farmers culminated today with a meaningful graduation ceremony, celebrating the successful completion of 108 hours of intensive, hands-on training in vegetable production.
The program formally commenced with the Tri-Hymn, setting a solemn and inspiring atmosphere for the celebration. This was followed by a warm Welcome Message delivered by our Local Youth Development Officer, Marianelli O. Buno, RPm, who highlighted the importance of empowering young people through meaningful opportunities and active participation in agriculture.
The Introduction of Guests and Presentation of Graduates was then led by Ms. Rachel T. Feniza, HVCDP Technician, recognizing the presence of our distinguished guests and proudly presenting the young farmers who successfully completed the training.
The graduates were formally confirmed on behalf of Hon. Janette A. Garcia, LLB, and represented by our Municipal Administrator, Manuelito Carusos, marking an important milestone in the journey of our young farmers.
The ceremony was also graced by the presence of our Honorable Vice Mayor Dave A. Evangelista and Municipal Councilor Hon. Maximo Garcia, who shared their inspirational messages with the graduates. Their words encouraged the young farmers to put into practice the knowledge and skills they acquired, pursue agriculture with dedication and innovation, and recognize farming not only as a livelihood but also as an opportunity to contribute to the food security and sustainable development of the community.
Adding inspiration to our celebrants was our resource speaker, Mr. Dionisio L. Palingcod Jr., owner of Palingcod Organic Farm, who shared his valuable insights and experiences in organic farming with the young farmer graduates. Drawing from his own journey in agriculture, Mr. Palingcod emphasized the importance of patience, perseverance, continuous learning, and commitment in pursuing success in farming. He encouraged the participants to embrace organic and sustainable farming practices while recognizing that meaningful success does not happen overnight. He reminded the graduates that every success is built through a step-by-step processโfrom starting small, gaining experience, learning from challenges, improving practices, and consistently working toward one's goals. His message served as a meaningful reminder that farming is not only about producing crops, but also about cultivating discipline, resilience, and determination. With the right knowledge, dedication, and willingness to learn, young farmers can turn their passion for agriculture into sustainable opportunities and a rewarding livelihood. His words undoubtedly inspired the graduates to continue their journey in agriculture with confidence, patience, and a strong belief that every small step taken today can lead to a fruitful harvest tomorrow.
The meaningful graduation ceremony concluded with the Closing Remarks of our Municipal Agriculturist, Mr. Angelito A. Oroyan, RAg, who expressed his appreciation and congratulations to all the young farmer graduates for their dedication and perseverance throughout the training. In his message, Mr. Oroyan emphasized that the completion of the training is not the end, but rather the beginning of a new journey in agriculture. He encouraged the graduates to apply the knowledge, skills, and experiences they gained during the training and to continue learning, innovating, and embracing sustainable farming practices. Mr. Oroyan further expressed his hope that the graduates will serve as inspiration to other young people to recognize agriculture as a viable and meaningful livelihood and to actively participate in building a more sustainable and food-secure community. As the ceremony came to a close, he thanked the resource speakers, facilitators, local officials, partner agencies, organizers, and everyone who contributed to the success of the Farmers Field School.
Today, we celebrate their achievement and look forward to seeing these young farmers apply what they have learned in their own communities. May they continue to cultivate not only vegetables, but also hope, opportunity, innovation, and a stronger future for agriculture. ๐ฑ๐ฅฌ๐
