Nefedcco is a cooperative for producers of buffalo milk. They approached SharePeople for the development of a strategy to improve the marketing of buffalo milk products. To get an overview of the chain, the team divided their activities in three fields of analyses: purchase, production planning and sales. Following their research the team was able to make several recommendations to improve the pr
ocess of milk production, such as the extension and the duplication of the unique ‘milk bar' distribution system, hiring sales people and standardisation of production processes. The team also showed Nefedcco the importance of financial analyses. Finally they gave tips concerning the planning of the organisation Nefedcco. Follow up
A lot of things have changed at Nefedcco. The management changed and a new buffalo milk cooperative has been created which is less related to the Philippine Carabao Centre, a governmental agent for carabao productivity.This new milk cooperative, called Carabao-based Development Foundation, works together with another processing plant, called CARACO inc. All management advice from the SharePeople Group Programme 2007 concerning production, finance and business planning have been implemented at these organizations. This CBDF and CARACO however are new, business start ups and the impact of the implementation can be measured in 2009.
