RAINWATER HARVESTER PROJECT: EVERY DROP, A STEP TOWARD SUSTAINABILITY

With the growing need to conserve water and promote sustainable practices in the school community, the Rainwater Harvester Project takes shape as an initiative that puts every drop of rain to purposeful use.

The project provides an alternative source of water for appropriate school activities while fostering greater awareness of water conservation and environmental responsibility among learners and the wider school community.

The YES-O family expresses its sincere appreciation to Dr. Nora S. Daquiz, PhD, School Principal IV, for initiating and supporting this meaningful environmental project. Her commitment to sustainability continues to open opportunities for practical, school-based actions that benefit both the community and the environment.

From rainfall to resource, every drop matters.

Seven YES-O officers of San Ricardo National High School took part in the Youth Empowerment Summit 2026, held today, August 20, 2026, at Talavera National High School, Nueva Ecija.

The summit, organized through the conference plan of Mayor Aries Patrick Vincent Gaboy Lim in partnership with the Municipal Youth Development Office (MYDO) of Talavera, brought together young leaders for a day of learning, connection, and empowerment.

More than just a conference, the summit served as a reminder that leadership is a continuous journeyโ€”one that calls young people to grow deeper in purpose, stronger in character, and bolder in taking part in building their community.

For the seven YES-O officers, this was more than another event to attend. It was a new page in their leadership journeyโ€”unwritten, but ready to be filled.

Armed with brooms, dustpans, and a shared sense of responsibility, YES-O officers and members worked together to remove litter, clean school surroundings, and promote proper waste management. The activity aimed not only to maintain a clean and safe learning environment but also to strengthen environmental awareness and encourage students to become active stewards of nature.

Through collective action and volunteerism, the organization continues to uphold its mission of fostering discipline, teamwork, and sustainable practices among the school community.

๐—ฃ๐—”๐—ฅ๐—ง ๐Ÿฎ | YES-O CONTINUES ZERO PLASTIC POLICY CAMPAIGN THROUGH INTERACTIVE LEARNING AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

As the campaign progressed, the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) of San Ricardo National High School continued its advocacy by engaging students in meaningful activities designed to reinforce the implementation of Division Memorandum No. 268, s. 2022 and deepen their understanding of the school's Zero Plastic Policy.

The second phase of the campaign featured an interactive knowledge-based activity that encouraged learners to apply the concepts discussed during the orientation while promoting active participation and environmental responsibility. The initiative also served as an opportunity to recognize students who demonstrated awareness of sustainable practices and the importance of reducing plastic waste in everyday school life.

To further strengthen environmental advocacy beyond the classroom, students were encouraged to follow the official YES-O San Ricardo National High School page, where updates, educational materials, and future environmental programs are regularly shared. Through sustained awareness efforts and collective participation, the organization continues to empower learners to become responsible environmental stewards and active partners in building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable school community.
