The Municipality of Talavera totally rocked the Local Cooperative Month Celebration last October 17, 2025 at the Talavera Gymnasium! It was a fun-filled day overflowing with energy, laughter, and blessings.

The celebration kicked off with a heartwarming gift-giving activity for 20 indigent families from Barangay Pag-asa and Esguerra. Right after, everyone joined an exciting parade from Pag-asa Gymnasium all the way to Talavera Gymnasium. 🚶‍♀️🥁

The crowd was blown away by the amazing dance performances of different primary cooperatives, followed by fun-filled games hosted by BADECO. To top it off, raffle draws and a lively Bingo game kept everyone on their toes and made the day even more unforgettable! 🎊🎁

This awesome event wouldn’t have been possible without the solid teamwork of MCEDO, MCDC, COUNTNE, and of course, the full support of the Local Government Unit. 💪✨

10.09.2025-10.10.2025

The 2-day National Cooperative Summit held at Supreme Hotel, Baguio City last October 9–10, 2025 was nothing short of inspiring!
Cooperatives from all over the country came together, making the celebration a powerful reminder of what unity can achieve.

The summit was packed with insightful messages and empowering talks from various guest and keynote speakers who shared their wisdom to strengthen the cooperative movement.

Mr. Alexander Raquepo encouraged everyone to “empower cooperative unions to educate and capacitate members”—reminding us that knowledge is the key to prosperity. He also threw in a friendly challenge to all cooperative leaders, saying “BODs must not be SSS—Seat, Snacks, Signature!”, inspiring more active and hands-on leadership. He added, “Let the cooperative economics uplift the lives of the members.”

Mayor Benjamin Magalong, through Engr. Leandro M. Tabilog, emphasized the importance of keeping up with the times: “Embrace digital innovation while your heart remains anchored in cooperativism.”

Asec. Abdulsalam A. Guinomla reminded everyone to “strengthen our cooperative identity,” while Father Anton CT. Pascual shared a powerful message: “Cooperatives don’t make rich individuals—they make rich communities.” He also stressed that cooperative unity is strengthened through unions and federations, and that it’s all about “profit for members.”

A big highlight came from Mr. Ander Etxeberria Otadui, Head of Cooperative Dissemination of Mondragon Cooperative Corporation in Spain—one of the world’s most successful cooperative models. He proudly shared, “I am a member of my cooperative, and I also work in my cooperative.” He reminded everyone that “cooperatives have a balance of heart and pocket,” and that no matter the size of your cooperative, “the impact it creates is what truly matters.”

FICCO also delivered a strong reminder: “Alagaan natin ang pera ng kooperatiba—we are just stewards of our members’ money.” They encouraged everyone to diversify cooperative services, not just stick to savings and credit.

Finally, Ms. Naomi Estodillo highlighted the Philippine Cooperative Development Plan aligned with Ambisyon 2040, envisioning a “matatag, maginhawa at panatag na buhay” for every Filipino.

The summit was truly a fun, inspiring, and empowering gathering, pushing every cooperative forward with new energy and a shared mission: a single cooperative can change a town, but a united movement can transform a nation by Atty. Mickel Borigas.

Our Union actively participates in the Cooperative Month Celebration which includes series of events held throughout October 2024, culminating in celebrations on October 10, 18, and 22, with the theme "STRONGER TODAY FOR THE BRIGHTER TOMORROW ". This celebration marked a significant moment for local cooperatives and exemplified their commitment to the cooperative movement.

The celebrations were participated by all 27 primary cooperative members of the Cooperative Union of Talavera Nueva (COUNTNE). Their collective presence and engagement underscored their unwavering support for cooperative movement.

***MUNICIPAL***

On October 10, the festivities began with a ceremonial distribution of food packs to 10 indigent families from Barangay Maestrang Kikay, demonstrating the cooperative’s commitment to social responsibility and community support. Following this, a vibrant parade showcased the spirit of the cooperatives. The program continued with cultural performances, where various cooperatives presented traditional dances and modern jazz routines based on their assigned genres, promoting local culture and artistic expression. Some parlor games were also played. The event concluded with exciting raffles and a Bingo Bonanza.

**REGIONAL @ Maria Aurora, Aurora**

On October 18, the cooperative representatives gathered in Baler, Aurora, for the regional celebration. Nueva Ecija had the largest delegation in attendance, reflecting the province's strong commitment to the cooperative movement. The highlight of the regional festivities was the Cooplympics Games - Pacific Edition, which encouraged friendly competition and cooperation. The event received full support from Regional Director Marietta Hwang and Provincial Cooperative Officer Ms. Lorna Mae Vero, whose presence and encouragement made the celebration even more special.

Moreover, to maximize the resources the COUNTNE also conducted a benchmarking at Maria Aurora Development Cooperative (MADECO) to acquire additional knowledge and best practices

**Provincial @ Palayan City Convention Center ***

The final leg of the month-long celebration took place on October 22 at the Palayan City Convention Center, which was meticulously prepared to mark the conclusion of the events. A key highlight of this celebration was the recognition of large cooperatives, where COUNTNE proudly honored its four member cooperatives:

1. ASKI Multipurpose Cooperative
2. Bantug Agricultural Multipurpose Cooperative
3. Kilusang Lima (5) Para Sa Lahat Multipurpose Cooperative
4. Nagkakaisang Magsasaka Agricultural Primary Multipurpose Cooperative

These cooperative members were acknowledged for their significant contributions to the cooperative sector and the local community. Additionally, agricultural cooperatives played an essential role in the Kadiwa ng Pangulo Program, showcasing and selling locally produced goods, thereby promoting the products of local farmers and enhancing food security.

The Cooperative Month celebration across Talavera, Baler, and Palayan City successfully reinforced the spirit of cooperation, unity, and community service among local cooperatives. The theme “Stronger Today for a Brighter Tomorrow” resonates deeply with the activities undertaken throughout the month. COUNTNE’s participation and the collaborative efforts of its member cooperatives not only highlighted their commitment to the cooperative movement but also demonstrated their dedication to uplifting the community and supporting local agriculture.
