At Playhouse Learning & Therapy Center, we believe that learning goes beyond the four corners of our center. Last May 22, PLTC held its very first Community Connection Program. 💛

As part of our mission to give back and create meaningful connections within the community, we shared school supplies with children as a simple way of supporting their learning journey and reminding them that they are valued, seen, and encouraged to dream big. ✨

This program reflects what PLTC stands for, not only helping children grow inside the center, but also extending care and support beyond it.

Here’s to more opportunities to serve, connect, and give back to the community.

Labor looks different for everyone—

For some, it’s hands-on work.
For us, it’s hearts-on work. 💙

Every session, every prompt, every small win is a product of dedication and teamwork.

Happy Labor Day from all of us at PLTC,
to our therapists, families, and all workers who continue to make a difference every day. ✨

Guided by ABA, driven by play.

This scoop-and-match activity is designed using ABA strategies; breaking tasks into small steps, guiding responses, and reinforcing effort.

It helps develop fine motor control, bilateral coordination, and sustained attention in a fun and engaging way.

Learning is most effective when it’s both structured and enjoyable. 💚

What looks like simple play is actually structured learning 🎈

This group activity is designed using ABA principles to improve attention, motor coordination, balance, turn-taking, and social engagement. Each movement and interaction is guided with purpose to support meaningful skill development.

Because progress doesn’t always look like work, sometimes, it looks like play. 💚

The PLTC Way: Part 6 — Why Small Progress Is Still Progress

Progress does not always appear as big or immediate changes. In early development, small gains such as increased attention, improved tolerance, or brief moments of interaction are meaningful indicators of growth.

At PLTC, we recognize and build on these small steps, including:

• increased eye contact or shared attention
• longer engagement in activities
• improved response to simple instructions
• emerging communication or interaction attempts

From an ABA-informed perspective, complex skills are developed through the accumulation of smaller, foundational behaviors. By reinforcing these early gains, we support continued learning and more stable, long-term outcomes.

Focusing on small progress allows us to track meaningful change, reduce pressure, and support each child’s individual learning trajectory.

This is Part 6 of The PLTC Way series.

Every child matters. Every life has value.
