📢 Heads up, Region 10 families! DSWD Field Office X has released ₱58.5 million in livelihood assistance through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) for poor and vulnerable families across the region — including Lanao del Norte, Misamis Oriental, and Misamis Occidental. The aid helps beneficiaries start, restart, or strengthen their sources of income, and participants completed financial education before receiving it.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office X, through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), released ₱58.495 million in livelihood assistance to 3,225 participants across Northern Mindanao in September 2026.

Of the total, ₱42.98 million was provided to 2,192 members of 113 Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs), while ₱15.515 million was released to 1,033 individual participants.

Lanao del Norte accounted for ₱36.82 million in assistance for 1,743 participants, followed by Misamis Oriental with ₱18.565 million for 1,237 participants. Misamis Occidental recorded ₱1.41 million for 84 participants, Bukidnon ₱1.1 million for 95 participants, and Camiguin ₱600,000 for 66 participants.

Behind these figures are participants using the assistance to start, restart, or strengthen their sources of income.

Among them is Mila Noallatan of Opol, Misamis Oriental, who received ₱15,000 as additional capital for her sari-sari store, an important source of income for her family.

Another participant, 47-year-old Remelie G. Estampa, had stopped selling kakanin, bottled water, and soft drinks at the Opol Public Market for about a month after running short of capital. The assistance allowed her to resume her small business.

Noallatan and Estampa were among the 302 SLP participants who received a combined ₱4.55 million in livelihood assistance in Opol on September 23.

Before receiving the assistance, participants underwent financial education and other preparatory activities to help them manage the livelihood grants and use them for their intended projects.

SLP Regional Program Coordinator Rhandy L. Ladoroz emphasized that the program’s support does not end with the release of livelihood grants. SLP personnel will continue to monitor participants and provide technical assistance as they operate and develop their livelihood activities.

“Our support does not end with providing capital. We will continue to monitor and assist our participants so they can properly use the assistance and further develop their livelihoods.”

DSWD Field Office X will also continue to help connect participants with local government units, government agencies, private organizations, and other partners for services and opportunities that can support their livelihood projects.

Through SLP, DSWD provides livelihood resources and capacity-building interventions to poor, vulnerable, marginalized, and disadvantaged households and communities to help improve their socio-economic well-being through microenterprise development and employment opportunities.
