Innovation, creativity, talent, and intellect took center stage as NSTP students officially opened the first day of the NSTP Culmination Program dubbed as Pasundayag 2026.

The event showcased the remarkable skills and collaborative spirit of students through various competitions including the Product Innovation Competition, Poster-Making Competition, Quiz Bowl Competition, and Photo Exhibit. Participants demonstrated not only their creativity and ingenuity but also their awareness of social responsibility, environmental sustainability, nationalism, and community involvement, core values embodied in the NSTP program.

From groundbreaking and eco-friendly product concepts, thought-provoking artworks, intellectually stimulating quiz challenges, to captivating visual storytelling through photography, Day 1 became a vibrant celebration of student excellence and purposeful learning.

Indeed, Pasundayag 2026 serves as a platform where passion meets service, creativity inspires change, and young minds are empowered to become responsible and proactive citizens of society.

The UMTC-NSTP proudly presents our esteemed Keynote Speaker for the NSTP Completers’ Ceremony this coming May 30, 2026.

We are honored to welcome 𝙈𝙖’𝙖𝙢 𝙎𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙞 𝙍𝙤𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙮𝙖 𝙇. 𝘼𝙥𝙖𝙙𝙖𝙣, 𝙍𝙎𝙒, the current AVP for Community Extension of the University of Mindanao, Davao City.

A passionate advocate of community service and empowerment, Ma’am Apadan continues to inspire students and communities through her dedication to extension programs and nation-building initiatives. Her leadership and commitment perfectly embody the true spirit of the National Service Training Program.

As we celebrate the accomplishments and meaningful journey of our NSTP completers, may her words inspire every student to become active agents of change, responsible citizens, and compassionate servant-leaders of the nation. 🇵🇭

𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐉𝐄𝐂𝐓 𝐆𝐀: 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐜𝐲 🌿

In line with its commitment to environmental preservation and community involvement, the 𝐔𝐌𝐓𝐂-𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐂 Unit successfully conducted 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐆𝐀: 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐜𝐲 today, May 23, 2026, with the active participation of the ROTC cadets.

The activity aimed to promote environmental awareness, encourage sustainable practices, and inspire the youth to become responsible stewards of nature through collective action and participation in greening initiatives.

This meaningful undertaking was made possible through the collaboration and support of the City Agriculture Office of Tagum City, whose partnership greatly contributed to the success of the activity.

The Department of Computing Education (DCE) successfully conducted the 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 on 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐟𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 Training participated in by the selected faculty members of Laureta National High School last April 18, 2026 (1st Session) and the assessment day last May 16, 2026 (2nd session).

This meaningful engagement aimed to enhance the participants’ digital competencies and strengthen their knowledge and skills in utilizing Microsoft applications effectively in teaching, learning, and administrative tasks.

Through collaborative discussions and hands-on activities, the participants were empowered with practical techniques and updated technological competencies relevant to today’s educational environment.

NSTPLYMPICS 2026: Ignite the Flame, Unite the Game

The successful conduct of NSTPLYMPICS 2026 has showcased the spirit of camaraderie, teamwork, and leadership among NSTP students of UMTC. This remarkable event brought together participants from different clusters in a celebration of athleticism and cooperation.

From thrilling games and intense competitions to fun-filled activities and unforgettable moments, NSTPLYMPICS 2026 became a platform where talents were discovered, friendships were strengthened, and values of discipline and unity were practiced.

Congratulations to all winners and participants! May the lessons of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship continue beyond the playing field.

Bridging the digital gap through knowledge and innovation!

The Computer Engineering Program successfully conducted a Community Extension activity on “Fundamentals of Software Use and Installation” for the residents, barangay officials, and staff of Brgy. Magugpo South.

The training was made even more impactful through the expertise of our invited trainers, Engr. Adel Monette Rivera and Engr. Louie Marisse Delideli, who generously shared their knowledge and guided participants throughout the sessions.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the dedicated faculty members and student-officers whose hard work, coordination, and commitment made this activity possible. Your efforts truly contributed to the success of this meaningful initiative.

This initiative aimed to enhance digital literacy by equipping participants with essential skills in using and installing software, empowering them to become more efficient, productive, and confident in navigating today’s technology-driven environment.

Through this training, the program continues its commitment to community development by sharing expertise and fostering lifelong learning among local stakeholders.

Empowering communities through sustainable innovation!

Earlier today, April 23, 2026, the Electrical and Electronics Engineering program successfully conducted the community initiative titled “Introduction to Solar Energy: Basic Installation and Maintenance for Households” to some residents of Brgy. Magugpo South, Tagum City held at Electronics Laboratory, Visayan Campus, UM Tagum College.

This meaningful activity aimed to equip residents with essential knowledge and practical skills in solar energy, promoting affordable, clean, and sustainable power solutions for everyday use.

The training session was facilitated by Engr. Muel Jan Mara, whose expertise and guidance helped participants better understand the fundamentals of solar installation and maintenance.

Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), this initiative highlights the commitment of our future engineers to serve, educate, and uplift local communities.

Banner Project: “Kakayaha’y Pagtibayin upang Magandang Kinabukasa’y Maaangkin”

📍 Community: Residents of Barangay Liboganon

The Department of Hospitality Education conducted the 2nd session of the Banner Project “Kakayaha’y Pagtibayin upang Magandang Kinabukasa’y Maaangkin,” an outreach initiative designed to empower and uplift the residents of Barangay Liboganon through relevant and practical training.

The HMTM Skills Training Program equips participants with essential competencies in hospitality, tourism, and service excellence, preparing them for real-world opportunities and sustainable livelihoods. This activity aims to enhance the community’s knowledge and skills that can be used both in daily life and in possible livelihood opportunities.

Empowering minds. Promoting respect. Creating safe spaces.

Last April 11, 2026, NSTP students actively participated in a meaningful Safe Spaces Act Seminar aimed at raising awareness on the importance of maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and harassment-free environment in our communities.

We were honored to have Atty. Dennis Bohol as our resource speaker, who shared valuable insights on the provisions of the Safe Spaces Act, the rights of individuals, and the responsibilities we all carry in fostering a culture of dignity and respect.

This seminar served as a reminder that every voice matters and every individual deserves to feel safe, whether in school, in public spaces, or online.

Batch 2026 Graduating Students Take Part in Clean-Up Drive

In line with its commitment to community engagement, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility, the Community Extension Center successfully spearheaded a Clean-Up Drive Activity participated in by the Batch 2026 Graduating Students of the 24th Mid-Year Commencement Exercises. Conducted at the premises of the City Agriculture Office, the activity served as a meaningful outreach initiative where students rendered their time and effort in helping maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the area. Through their active participation in collecting waste materials, segregating garbage, and cleaning designated spaces, the students contributed to the improvement of the surroundings while promoting awareness on the importance of environmental care and community involvement.

The activity also reflected the Community Extension Center’s continuing mission to develop socially responsive graduates who are not only academically equipped but are also committed to serving the community. As Batch 2026 prepares to conclude an important chapter of their academic journey, their involvement in the clean-up drive symbolizes the spirit of volunteerism, cooperation, gratitude, and civic consciousness. More than an act of service, the initiative stands as a reminder that true success is measured not only by academic achievement but also by one’s willingness to create a positive impact and care for the welfare of others and the environment.
