The ๐—–๐—ผ๐—บ๐—บ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† ๐—˜๐˜…๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—–๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ (๐—–๐—˜๐—–) of UM Tagum College successfully conducted the SOCI Coordinatorsโ€™ Meeting on August 12, 2026, bringing together the SOCI Coordinators to review the accomplishments of the current academic year and establish directions for School Year 2026โ€“2027.

The meeting provided an avenue to assess previous accomplishments, year-end deliverables, professional engagement activities, and the status of Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs) with community partners. The coordinators also discussed the CMAP and 5-Year Development Plan, particularly the preparation of proposals for the 5th year of implementation.

Key discussions also focused on the Formative and Impact Study, the identification of new community partners, and the development of 5th Year Banner Projects that will respond to the emerging needs of partner communities. Issues, concerns, and recommendations were likewise discussed to strengthen the implementation and sustainability of the College's community extension initiatives.

Looking ahead, the meeting emphasized the importance of strategic planning, strengthened partnerships, responsive programs, and sustainable community engagement as UM Tagum College prepares for SY 2026โ€“2027.

Through the active participation and collaboration of the SOCI Coordinators, the Community Extension Center continues to advance its commitment to meaningful community transformation through relevant, responsive, and sustainable extension programs.

Through the Project GA: Greening Advocay, which is a Clean-Up Drive Activity spearheaded by the UMTC Community Extension Center today, August 1, 2026, in collaboration with the City Agriculture Office, our Graduating Students for SY 2025โ€“2026 came together to show that making a difference starts with simple acts of service.

As they prepare to graduate, they also demonstrated that true success is measured not only by academic achievements but by the positive impact they create for others and the environment.

The Bachelor of Secondary Education and Graduate School Office successfully conducted the Professional Engagement with the theme, "Empowering the Classroom: Strategies for Fostering Learner Independence and Effective Classroom Management," held on July 18, 2026 at the AVR 2, UM Tagum College.

The seminar featured ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐‡๐ž๐ง๐ซ๐ฒ ๐‚. ๐‹๐ข๐ ๐š๐ง as the resource speaker, who shared valuable insights and practical strategies on promoting learner independence, effective classroom management, and creating meaningful learning experiences for students. The discussion also highlighted the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, introducing AI-powered tools that can assist teachers in developing lesson plans, generating instructional materials, creating topic overviews and presentation content, and enhancing classroom preparation through responsible and ethical AI integration.

Through this engagement, participants gained relevant knowledge and innovative teaching strategies that will strengthen their competence as future educators, equipping them to embrace technology while maintaining learner-centered and effective teaching practices.

Liboganon earlier today, July 3, 2026.

This initiative aims to empower community members by providing the essential tools needed to strengthen their catering services, creating greater opportunities for livelihood, entrepreneurship, and sustainable income generation.

The turnover of these materials symbolizes more than just the provision of equipment, it reflects a shared vision of fostering self-reliance, enhancing skills, and improving the quality of life within the community. As part of its banner project, โ€œ๐™†๐™†๐™†: ๐™†๐™–๐™–๐™œ๐™–๐™ฅ๐™–๐™ฎ ๐™๐™ช๐™ฃ๐™œ๐™ค ๐™จ๐™– ๐™†๐™–๐™ช๐™ฃ๐™ก๐™–๐™ง๐™–๐™ฃ ๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™†๐™ค๐™ข๐™ช๐™ฃ๐™ž๐™™๐™–๐™™โ€, the Non-Teaching Personnel Organization of UM Tagum College successfully conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) and Quick Response Training for the Senior Citizens, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK), and Barangay Officials of Brgy. Mabaus earlier, July 3, 2026.

This community extension initiative was designed to equip participants with essential life-saving knowledge and practical skills to respond effectively during emergencies. Through engaging discussions and hands-on demonstrations, participants learned the fundamentals of basic life support, proper first aid, and quick emergency response, empowering them to become capable first responders within their community.

The activity reflects the organization's commitment to fostering safer, healthier, and more resilient communities by promoting preparedness, collaboration, and public service. The banner project aims to empower communities through meaningful outreach and sustainable partnerships.
