This experience provided valuable exposure to real-world power generation operations and strengthened our understanding of concepts learned in the classroom. We extend our sincere appreciation to the management, engineers, and staff of both facilities for their warm accommodation and knowledge-sharing. Special thanks to Engr. Alexander B. Briones for making this educational opportunity possible and for continuously supporting the development of future engineers.
At ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐. ๐ข๐ง ๐๐๐๐จ, ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐จ ๐๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ, students gained insights into diesel-fired power generation and the operation of its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), a technology used to enhance grid stability, improve power reliability, and support energy management. The visit also covered the operation of large generator sets, fuel systems, electrical protection equipment, and grid integration, highlighting the plant's significant role in meeting the region's electricity demands.
At ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐๐ฐ ๐๐๐ญ๐๐๐ง, students observed the principles of renewable energy generation through hydropower. The tour showcased the conversion of hydraulic energy into electrical energy using turbines and generators, emphasizing efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly power production.
