We, Tagum Deaf Association, Inc., would like to greet everyone a Happy International Day of Sign Languages!

Today, we celebrate the beauty, importance, and power of sign languages while recognizing that sign language is a human right. Let us continue to uphold and promote Filipino Sign Language (FSL), strengthen accessibility, and support equal opportunities for Deaf people in education, employment, public services, and everyday life.

Together, let us continue declaring Deaf people's human rights through inclusion, respect, and equal communication for all.

Thank you for your leadership and for empowering Deaf community in the Philippines. Your support and advocacy have inspired many Deaf Filipinos including our Tagum Deaf Community.

You made history as the first elected Philippine Federation of the Deaf (PFD) President, serving from 1999 to 2003 after being directly elected by Deaf Filipino leaders. You are also the first Deaf Filipino to earn a doctorate in Linguistics from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., United States.

Your dedication continues to inspire us to strengthen Deaf leadership, Filipino Sign Language, and the rights of the Deaf community.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Mayor Rey T. Uy and Krizia Jessie C. Tolentino of Tagum City Youth and Sports Development Office & TDA Focal Person for inviting Tagum Deaf Community to participate in Panagtapok 2026: Inclusive Youth Camp, held on August 22โ€“23, 2026, at Botanical Park.
