This morning, June 13, 2026, a devastating fire struck Western Bicutan and left many families with nothing. Among those affected is 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗵𝘂𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮𝘀, a BSEDMT 3-1 student and former VP for External Affairs of the Mentors Society.

Kenth has always been someone who served others with dedication and heart. Today, he needs us.

🇵🇭 𝗔𝗿𝗮𝘄 𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗮𝗻 2026 🇵🇭

Ngayong araw, ating ginugunita ang ika-128 anibersaryo ng proklamasyon ng Kalayaan ng Pilipinas, na idineklara ni dating Pangulong Emilio Aguinaldo sa ikaapat ng hapon noong ika-12 ng Hunyo 1898 sa Kawit, Cavite.

Bagama’t nakamit na natin ang kalayaan mula sa pamumuno ng mga dayuhan, patuloy pa rin nating hinaharap ang iba’t ibang hamon sa makabagong panahon—kahirapan, katiwalian, korapsyon, at mga suliraning sumasubok sa ating demokrasya. Sa gitna ng mga ito, mahalagang itanong: Tunay nga bang malaya ang ating bansa? At naisasabuhay ba natin ang diwa ng demokrasya at kasarinlan?

Sa pagdiriwang na ito, hindi lamang natin binabalikan ang kasaysayan; pinapaalalahanan din tayo na ang tunay na kalayaan ay isinasabuhay araw-araw—sa paggalang sa karapatan ng bawat isa, sa pagkakaisa at bayanihan, sa matapang na paninindigan para sa katotohanan at katarungan, at higit sa lahat, sa wagas na pagmamahal sa ating Inang Bayan.

Patuloy na manindigan para makamit ang tunay na kalayaaan. Ang namulat ay hindi na muling pipikit pa.

Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas! 🇵🇭

The Mentors Society strongly condemns the red-tagging and the coordinated flooding of fake news by “Taguig Unlimited” targeting the PUP-Taguig community. This is a shameful act that undermines truth, and violates the basic rights of students, and every member of our academic community.

Ang Red-tagging ay hindi “calling out.” It is a reckless practice of labeling individuals, groups, or organizations as enemies of the state without evidence, due process, or accountability. When “Taguig Unlimited” attaches that label to PUP-Taguig students, they are not just spreading misinformation. They are putting real people at risk of surveillance, intimidation, and even putting a hate.

The flood of fake news accompanying these baseless accusations makes the situation worse. Fabricated posts, out-of-context screenshots, and malicious captions are designed for one purpose: to divide, to silence, and to distract from legitimate issues faced by the Isko at Iska ng Bayan. Instead of addressing real concerns about education, student welfare, and public service, “Taguig Unlimited” chose to weaponize disinformation. That is not public discourse. That is an attack.

Additionally, the taxes and education given to the students of Taguig are one of the students rights so it must not be an attack.

We, the Mentors Society, will continue to defend academic freedom, protect our students and mentors, and uphold the truth — no matter how many false posts are thrown our way.
