Weโ€™re facing a reality that's far from perfect โ€” from wading through the same flooded streets, despite those billion-peso flood control budgets, to tackling heavy issues like the Pax Silica project, and standing with our farmers and fisherfolk who are still fighting for their livelihoods.

Leadership doesn't happen in a vacuum. We're stepping into the current to confront, carry, and hopefully transform the struggles passed down to us.

This September 26, a fresh batch of PUP Taguig student leaders and organization officers are officially taking the plunge and accepting the challenge.

TINGNAN | Matagumpay na naisagawa ng mga estudyante ng PUP Taguig ang isang kilos-protesta at walkout upang mariing kondenahin ang napakababang โ‚ฑ3.5 bilyong badyet ng pamantasan para sa 2027, gayundin ang patuloy na panggigipit, red-tagging, at mapanupil na sistema sa ilalim ng administrasyong Marcos Jr. at Sara Duterte.

Bitbit ang paninindigan para sa de-kalidad, libre, at makamasang edukasyon, nananawagan ang mga Iskolar ng Bayan para sa agarang pagbibigay ng buong โ‚ฑ15.7 bilyong pondo para sa PUP. Kasabay nito ang panawagan na itigil ang pasistang panunupil at red-tagging sa mga lider-estudyante, wakasan ang mga patakarang nagpapahirap sa masa, tutulan ang mga kasunduang isinasantabi ang interes ng sambayanan tulad ng Pax Silica, at panagutin ang mga nasa kapangyarihan sa korapsyon, kapabayaan, at mga polisiyang patuloy na nagpapasan ng bigat sa mamamayan.

Isang taon matapos ang "๐“๐ซ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐ž๐ฌ๐จ ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐œ๐ก" ay patuloy pa rin ang pamamayagpag ng rehimeng Bongbong Marcos at Sara Duterte. Hanggang ngayon, wala pa ring isa man sa kanila ang nakukulong dahil sa kanilang korapsyon kapabayaan sa edukasyon, at imperyalismo.

Dahil sa patuloy nilang paghawak ng kapangyarihan, hindi pa rin nasasara ang proyektong ๐๐š๐ฑ ๐’๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐œ๐š na nagsasabing makapagbibigay "daw" ng mas maraming trabaho sa mga Pilipino pero perwisyo ang dala sa mga masang nasa laylayan. Kasabay ng iba't ibang pagsusulong nito, noong Agosto 11, nakatanggap lamang ng badyet na P3.501 bilyon ang PUP na ibabahagi sa iba pang campuses sa taong 2027 mula sa isinusulong sanang P15.7 bilyon na badyet.

Sa ganitong ๐›๐š๐๐ฒ๐ž๐ญ ๐œ๐ฎ๐ญ, ito ay napakalaking kawalan para sa ating mga campuses na direktang makakaapekto sa ating mga Iskolar ng Bayan sa Taguig. Patuloy ding isinusulong ang pagkakaroon ng ๐๐๐” ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ na hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa rin ibinabasura at nagpapabigat sa balikat ng bawat estudyante hindi lamang sa mga Iskolar sa Taguig kundi pati na rin sa iba pang Iskolar ng iba't ibang mga campuses.

Sa patuloy na pamamayagpag ng ganitong mga isyu sa ating lipunan, mananahimik ka pa ba? Hahayaan mo bang hindi marinig ang boses mo bilang isang Iskolar ng Bayan? Halina't sumama sa Walkout! UPDATE | MAY NAGAGAWA ANG PROTESTA! TAGUMPAY ANG ATING LABAN MATAPOS APRUBAHAN NG PUP ADMIN ANG PAGGAMIT NG LIVED NAMES NG MGA MAGSISIPAGTAPOS NA ISKOLAR NG BAYAN!

Ngayong ika-12 ng Setyembre, muling nagkaisa ang komunidad ng PUP sa isang kilos-protesta bitbit ang panawagan para sa paggamit ng lived names ng mga magtatapos sa 2026 Year-End Commencement Exercise at pagbabasura ng graduation fees.

Matapos ang mobilisasyon, ipinaabot ni Vice President for Student Affairs and Services Testor kay SR Azusano na pumayag na ang Executive Committee ngayong araw sa paggamit ng lived names sa graduation rites. Inaasahang makakapagmartsa na ang mga Iskolar ng Bayan bitbit ang dignidad at karapatan nilang makilala ano man ang kanilang pagkakakilanlan.

Ito ay malinaw na resulta ng sama-samang pagkilos ng mga Iskolar ng Bayan sa loob ng ilang taong paglaban sa mga anti-estudyanteng polisya. Mula sa pagsusumite ng mga petisyon, dayalogo, hanggang sa pagpapatampok ng panawagan sa mobilisasyon, patuloy na iginiit ng mga estudyante ang kanilang mga karapatan.

Hindi rito nagtatapos ang laban! Patuloy nating itatampok ang pagbabasura ng graduation fees at iba pang mga polisiyang nagpapahirap sa bawat Iskolar ng Bayan. Hindi tayo titigil hangga't nananatiling may mga patakarang nagiging hadlang sa isang ligtas, makatarungan, at maka-estudyanteng pamantasan.

Samantala, hinihintay pa ang opisyal na proseso at mga alituntunin para sa paggamit ng lived names sa graduation. Maglalabas ng karagdagang anunsyo kaugnay nito.
